  1. Yes agree, maybe we're just talking past each other. The style of play that DeVries is running -- and which the players and he talked about pre-Puerto Rico -- was reflected in the writeups, in the limited clips we did get to see ourselves, and in the box score -- high volume 3-point shooting, spread between several players with ball movement, and a fairly fast pace. I take very little from individual stats / player stats, and total points scored, or rebounding, I'm just talking about the system / style of play, and that's pretty clear imo.
  2. Why do you ignore the writeups, from the people who “went?” Lol what’s the problem with their accounts of the team’s pace, and the volume of threes, and the spreading of number of shots between the players in 3 games tells you nothing?? Come on man, of course you can start to get a feel for the style of DeVries’ offense it’s not rocket science
  3. There was video including what i posted along with reporting of the ganes, also posted. You’re getting a little heavy into the disbelief
  4. We won’t shoot 29%, we have some really good deep shooters, I like what the tempo looks like, true to the pre-season narrative. I don’t take much out of exhibition games as to stats plus or minus, but schemes and style show.
  5. Ahh, this says it all - In its three games on the island, Indiana attempted 87 3-pointers and made 26, shooting just under 30 percent. The transition offense was as advertised, too. All five players consistently pushed the ball upcourt, attacking quickly and scoring in transition before the defense could get set. The Hoosiers averaged 90.6 points per game, scoring at least 81 points in each game. The pace at which Indiana played wore down both opponents by the end of the first half. “I think stylistically, we’re playing to how we want to play,” DeVries said of the three games. “Most of that comes down to that movement, being able to give yourself up so that we can get another guy an open shot.” In years past, Indiana’s downfall was a severe lack of in-game adjustments.. Instruction during games was minimal. Under DeVries, that has changed. He made timely adjustments that helped guide his team to two comeback wins. Throughout each game, he and his staff consistently coached and taught from the bench.
  6. I'd be interested to see the ultimate stats. It's not a zero game if we're talking playing time for frosh -- it's not whether or not they get signed to a college team, it's how much the frosh play, and I do think we're seeing 'older' teams in that frosh are playing less now that there are many more veteran players available to be picked up by other teams.
  7. Was my immediate thought as well. My impression w/o the stats is teams have been and are continuing to get/play older post Covid and through the portal, which has affected frosh recruiting and playing time across the board.
  8. Nice! Postpone that trip back to Australia as long as possible!
  9. Only humbucking pickups have that depth of sustain - his high neck bends last forever
  10. Obviously, Stephens should shoot all of our 3's Kidding aside, gotta love the assists numbers across the team and balanced scoring. And 71-41 ratio's not bad
  11. Ristic plus 11 in 11 min. Consistent so far with last game. good to see
  12. anyone got a box score? Edit: Lol the timing, Old Fart posting it while I type
  13. Someone tell Zach to put a zoom lens on his phone, lol. But yeah, that was solid perimeter D -
  14. Whether one’s view is positive or negative on the team’s outlook, we’re all going to enjoy watching this kid play. He has Game
  15. So - 2 games in a row show adjustments (apparently)and strong second half play overcoming significant deficit to take the lead. Yeah, I don’t see the sky falling
  16. Score update anyone?
  17. If they build back in the 2nd half will you call that as you see it? don't get me wrong, not intending to call you out at all, we all have our own takes and viewpoints, it just seems like you're glossing over the good for the bad. A team that goes on what was basically a 70-point run after tinkering around in the 1st half of that game is not just fun imo, it showed how the team could score -- and defend -- when the primary lineups were tightened down and adjustments were made. These are just exhibitions, can't really draw hard conclusions good or bad, but pace, schemes and who seemed to play better with who, for me, have value.
  18. Really would like to know if coach DeVries makes changes / adjustments in the 2nd, and what our primary lineups have been in the 1st, and what they will be in the 2nd. Is part of the 20-point down due to lineups, and some continuing testing by staff in this exhibition game, or has it been the unit(s) that played most in the 2nd half of last week's game. Let's see what happens in the 2nd...
  19. I feel like you only have negative takes, lol. I guess the last game was just a fluke. A little optimism is good for the soul
  20. Would be interesting to know what the lineups have looked like so far
  21. Lineup needs work...
  22. On an alley oop, nice
  23. Saw that and makes sense -- of course typical for coaches to explore lineups in exhibitions, giving players and units looks to see who and what works. I hope we get a better breakdown from people there (Zach etc) of the makeup of the most used lineups and how they performed.
  24. Mega Superbet player wet his pants...
