The day after commentary from opposing fanbases is hilarious. Yet again saying IU won't be good next year, 4 losses minimum, etc. Finding ways to comfort themselves by diminishing this team / program instead of confronting reality... that we are here to stay. You'd think they'd have learned a lesson after saying that last year. I mean, I'm budgeting for next year's playoffs starting now. -

If you don't want to sob today, don't search for the clip of Cig talking about what his father would say if he could've seen this during the post game interview on the Big Ten Network. -
When you have greatness, and in the moment, you recognize you have greatness... you appreciate it for all it is and support it 100%. The way I feel about this game confirms to me that IU is a football school and that is a-ok with me. I'll have a blast following their offseason. Any positivity basketball generates is gravy for me moving forward.

Cig > Saban No explanation needed. -
Given the effects a good football program can have on the entire University, truly nothing else matters about Dolson's tenure. He picked the right North Star for the athletic department to pursue and everything has fallen perfectly into place around that. We need to sustain this success (and I'm certain we will with this staff) for a few more years and then the transformative impact across IU will be obvious. Tip of the cap to Scott.

I am not sure if it's registered for the rest of the world that Indiana Football is the national champion. I am going to be insufferable this entire offseason to non IU fans. -
Once a Hoosier always a Hoosier in Alberto's case. I'd welcome him back with open arms any time. Maybe produce elsewhere for a year then pick up where big bro left off. Sad to see him go. But he will always be a quietly important part of the only 16-0 CFB team of the modern era.

The national championship win earns Cig a $2M bonus. $4.2M in incentives this playoff and his guaranteed top 3 salary clause. Worth every penny. -

I'll be looking for a print of this to buy for the man cave. -

What if the only games Cig ever loses here are the two in his first year to the two teams that played for the title? Only half joking... this may be a legitimate possibility. -
Absolutely. I mean, going back to his hometown and beating the school he grew up rooting for, 2 miles down the road, that didn't offer him... winning on their home field and making the plays he did. Getting rocked like he did all game. Then wins the title and goes on to be picked #1 overall (probably)? That's movie stuff. Amazing young man.
