Every game looks like the first time these guys have ever played together

Screw it, do what the TCU women's team is doing and hold on open try out on campus because too many players on the roster are "injured" (the TCU women's team has legitimate injuries but at this rate just get these guys off the court).

It's so sad how there's literally no defending this season. Officially a train wreck that seems likely to get worse.

If Woody does not start his post game comments by calling this a total embarrassment and taking ownership for it, apologizing for the product and the behavior of his players and that CJ will be suspended for a length TBD... at a minimum... then it should be completely clear to people, including decision makers in Bloomington, that he's ready for retirement now and not after next year. Finish the season out and end things on good terms, quickly. Act decisively in the coaching carousel. God this team is so disappointing.

Yeah this is more embarrassing than things have been in a while. Whew.

The kid was being a gnat. Gunn took the bait. Camera was dead on him. Our guys are a joke. This game is where the wheels officially came off the tracks. Everyone's gotta take a look in the mirror. And that's putting it extremely mildly.

... This is where the argument that XJ should have been dealt with more harshly really gets weight.

X is going to get picked apart by the stripes all year. Screw it... this team could use the week off. Or at least we can all use a week without watching this

It's all so sadly predictable.

I will admit I was not following things as closely during the Glass to Dolson transition so a bit shaky on some of my timelines. But I'm willing to cut Dolson a little slack based on the Cignetti hire and some of the other renovations/investments being put into football. I don't think the guy's too bad at fundraising. The search that resulted in Woody's hire was Dolson's first I believe, so it's possible he thought he had Stevens and made a rookie mistake. I'll give one pass... the next basketball hire has to be right. But... we've been saying that.

Looked like Woody was telling Trey to call TO and it took him a couple seconds. Coach Ya just grabbed him by the wrist and got in Trey's face, I think he was kind of mopey after being late on the closeout. God this team.

Malik is great in so many ways, don't get me wrong. But if you're a perimeter player he's got to be the most frustrating guy to play with in the post lol

At the Rutgers game, there was a moment in the second half when they were going on that final run where CJ was standing in the corner right in front of me with his hands ready to catch and shoot while the ball was being dribbled on the opposite wing with NOBODY between him and the basket. I couldn't help but stand up and shout "Cut CJ!" but not too loudly because I'm not trying to become a persona non grata lol. Although I doubt I'll be going to too many more games in the current iteration of IUBB...

It's not even that we're losing. It's that this team plays like a bunch of middle schoolers, most of the time.

Are 26 points in a half good? For a player, it's great...

The lack of preparedness this team has had from the start of the season exists for a few reasons that have been covered plenty of times. Tonight it feels like prioritizing having a seat at the table with top talent over recruiting to fit a certain system/style of play/philosophy is what's so painfully obviously wrong. We've got no chemistry. How much time could have possibly gone into evaluating Mgbako and Ware given the late spring/portal commitment timelines? We're not building a program, we're rolling out the basketballs and trusting that we've got better guys who Mike can put in better position to win than the other coach. It's not working. We don't have an identity. EDIT: To be clear, I'm not saying Mgbako or Ware are the problem, at all. I'm afraid to think of what this team would look like without them. Just illustrating that the staff's FA approach of just draft/sign the best talent and work the rest out once they're on the roster... does not seem to translate to CBB. We've swung and missed too many times for it to work.

I can't take many more games that feel like we're just not going to be competitive after about 15-20 minutes of real time. This one's not over yet... but oof

Mgbako should sit for the rest of the first half, maybe rest of the game. God awful defense and lack of effort rebounding. Can't stay on the court playing like that.
