  1. Lander is an All-B1G talent that's playing 5 minutes a game. Leal is a solid starter. Yet we are trying to be Indiana State rather than Indiana.
  2. 4 games is not a little. There was plenty of separation. "Well if only we hit this" is why Indiana is where it is. It is constantly "well better luck next year." Well eventually you just have to pull the shirt over the competition and beat the hell out of them for once. (Happy Gilmore reference for anyone wanting to know).
  3. Yes. Wins are wins and losses are losses. They won 4 more games. They find the way to win those games while we found the ways to lose those games.
  4. Durham is getting screwed by Archie. He's really only good for spotting up. He really just needs to be in the corner if all we are going to do is top of key ball screens.
  5. Everyone said I stupid for dogging on Durham last season while he continued to let us down against good teams. This year he's really just doing it against everyone. In the one game we played without him, I thought we played one of our best games. In his one good game of the season, we played one of our best games. Seems like if he's on, play him, but majority of the time, he needs to be sitting. But it seems like At his is trying to get him to come back next season by playing him a bunch.
  6. Phinisee and Durham can't listen. Gotta run the half court sets.
  7. Robert Johnson said he knew nothing before ever being on campus.
  8. TV exposure to recruits is important. They are seeking out games. They are likely just turning on ESPN.
  9. Well that's 6 spots. And the fact they won 4 more conference games than us. And again, appeared in the Top 8 times. Getting as high as 19th. And they've been able to build off that. While after we got ranked in Archie's 2md season and spent 5 weeks, it all went downhill.
  10. Yet Durham(who should have been moved to the bench first) is still playing almost 30 minutes a game.
  11. Gonzaga has been able to beat Kansas, Auburn, West Virginia, Iowa and Virginia... And some will still say they wouldn't compete in a P5 conference.
  12. Weird what can happen when a player has some basketball IQ. Our guards have almost zero on the offensive end.
  13. They won't play because Archie wants to play the old guys.
  14. And kids still watch more ESPN. That's just the primary brand they know of and they unconsciously turn on. They can pay IU all they want, it doesn't equal getting massive primetime ESPN coverage.
  15. Our TV exposure isn't going to turn out very great this season. Last I looked, we don't play on ESPN until February. And that's on ESPN against Illinois. Now that may not be set completely in stone yet, but I mainly saw BTN and FS1. We aren't exactly a big hit for Primetime.
  16. High level recruits now barely know about our 12-13 team. If at all. A kid in the 2021 class was what? 9 or 10 at the time? They really don't care. They were like 14 when we won the B1G 2016.
  17. And then Understood ACTUALLY made changes and look what happened.
  18. Well year 3 and Illinois finishes 4th in the B1G and ranked 21st while Indiana was 10th and a bubble team. Year 4 is looking to be about the same.
  19. Lander can shoot. But there is a period of growing pains you'll have to go through with him. Same with Leal. Both should be getting way more minutes.
  20. We really don't have time for that. It would be different if we had Yogi or Tom Coverdale. Even Armon Bassett. But we have guys who should be playing at Indiana State. You just have to let the kid play.
  21. How about the fact that we average 71 possessions per game? Which is 222nd in the nation. Obviously some teams can make it work. We are not one of those teams. There are several P5 teams behind us. UCLA, Texas Tech, Purdue, Wisconsin, Virginia. But all 9f those teams are more efficient than us. It's difficult to run at such a slow pace and average less than a point per possession. And we are right on the cusp of doing so but we aren't there. Moving Phinisee to the bench was a good move. Durham needs to be next.
  22. It doesn't help that Phinisee and Durham jog the ball up the floor. Lander is the only one look to race up the court. If Archie's offensive system actually works, then put the players on the court that can make it happen. Phinisee and Durham are not those players.
  23. That's kinda the issue. Those two continue just going through the motions. The system is absolutely terrible. It's not an offense built to score. It's built to waste time.
  24. My biggest problem with Phinisee and Durham is that they just play through the motions. No IQ on how to read and react to the defense. They HAVE to run the offense like its practice.
