TJD is a center in the NBA. And would fit in well as a rebounder and rim protector. He wouldn't be looked upon to score outside of some pick and roll lobs and put backs. A Tristan Thompson type of roll.
I don't think adding any of them helps. Archie's system is that seriously flawed. There isn't anything that will help this offense. Even when Franklin was on fire against Butler, everything was still clogged. Even the pack line defense is weak for it being the 4th year and having several guys who have played 2+ years in it. Archie doesn't belong at IU. Plain and simple. He belongs somewhere with low expectations.
The consensus seems to be from many fans that you can't fire Archie after 4 years because then it seems like you aren't patient... Even if results are bad, you have to ride it out for X amount of years for a reputation of patience rather than expectations of delivering. This is why the program is in the crapper.
Why does everyone believe you have to start from scratch with a coaching change? Or that it takes 5 years for a coach? Even Crean made it work in year 4. This team would get absolutely ran out of the gym against the 11-12' team. Hire a good coach. Experienced or not. Time for a change before it's too late.
Well we have to wait until he has his guys and then it'll start clicking. You just have to look at the bigger picture. We gotta get all Indiana kids and then get old and stay old.
And people actually believe this crap.
Now if I'm putting a list of guys together... It would definitely be a mix of experience and swinging for the fences. I don't believe we can get anyone who is super successful because right now in college basketball they are all old and coaching talented seems to be going down the toilet as the years go on. But a guy that always pops into my head? Jon Scheyer.
Would Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, Florida, Texas, Michigan State, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Oregon, UCLA etc put up with Archie's time? Probably not.
