I'd say it's been more the other way around. Former NBA players who think they can coach CBB, maybe. But how many former NBA head coaches go to college? Normally it's college guys who think they can coach the NBA: Rick Pitino, P.J. Carlesimo, John Calipari, John Beilein, Lon Kruger, Fred Hoiberg, Billy Donovan to name a few who were very successful college coaches and not so much in the NBA.

@ap2345 has said multiple times it happened.

TJ for me. One is on is on the way up, the other might be losing some steam a bit.

If and that's a big if, if he were to come to IU I highly doubt he'd bolt quickly afterwards for another NBA gig other than going back to Boston and definitely not for the Butler gig.
-
IU basketball coach records vs. Purdue since Bob Knight: - Mike Woodson: 4-4 - Archie Miller: 0-7 - Tom Crean: 5-10 (5-5 over last 6 years) - Kelvin Sampson: 2-1 - Mike Davis: 9-2 https://x.com/daily_hoosier/status/1894067565510484340

Uwe. And yes, he had infamously bad hands. Heard a pretty crazy story about him while in S. Bend for the IU/ND football game. NSFW.

Give us the full scoop here. Who do we think Zeller is working with, Stevens?
-
Seems to me it's the same people talking about him a lot, not a lot of people. Regardless, I am going to say Cronin will not be the guy, if no other reason than Doyle being one of the people talking about him.

I don't know about "a lot". And some of these supposed rumored names are being thrown around by people who have a lot to gain by having any rumors.
-
Which is a good thing. Fool me once...

Beer'd time!

So he'd crack one (a few) open on the sidelines?
-
If he's anything like our Rabjohns he doesn't know much :) I think we're not going to know much for while, right?
-
I was at IU during Pat's career, so I do what you're referring to.
-
Option 3? He'd be the clear number one probably. When did you read this? Just curious.
-
I'd also assume Matta with our roster has a much better record than Woody. Like much, much, better.
-
You know why? You were at Chess King. Nobody's leaving Chess King "looking good".
-
You've learned all of this in an hour!?

Him not getting fired had nothing to do with race, sorry. This is what happens when you hire an IU legend with backing of certain BoT members and donors. He went to the tournament twice before as well. I think we all agree it was not going to work out. The biggest mistake was hiring him in the first place without any college experience. We also paid him a lot of money considering he didn't have any other legitimate HC opportunities or competition for his services.

Ask @RoadToZion if they're a fan. Have you read why he enjoys Baylor? Basketball seems pretty secondary. Sure, there are religious coaches, but he seems to be taking it to the next level. Seems like a perfect fit for Baylor.
-
I get Drew has the Indiana (state) ties and he's done very well at Baylor, but he just seems like a really, really, bad fit. I can't believe he's a real candidate.
-
I agree with @iubb AI all the way,

Oddly written story. "Indiana Hoosiers linked to Rick Pitino as head coaching candidate ...Trevor Andershock of 247 Sports has suggested that the Hoosiers could take a look at Rick Pitino....While he does make it clear that he doesn't see a likely fit between the two sides, Pitino would be a very interesting option....Andershock shared some of the reasoning why the two sides won't come together...Pitino is looking at other options, and Indiana has many concerns about his past," he wrote....All of that being said, the idea that Pitino would be a great fit with Indiana is likely never going to turn into a reality. But, it's a fun idea to think about." So they are linked, but not really and actually they don't want him at all and he's looking at other options? Great insight.
