  1. Agreed. I thought the same thing when I began to look at it. If I remember now, though, they had mentioned they had several players on that roster reach the 1,000 point mark and several on pace to reach that mark.
  2. Yep, my theoretical post of him landing in top 25 was if he kept on pace of around 17ppg and didn't account for any BigTenTourney or NCAA tourney games. So, I would think they can at least expect 22 more games (20 more this season, 1 Big Ten tourney game, and 1 NCAA tourney game), which figuring a 17ppg average with those two additional games alone would put him only a few points from surpassing Jimmy Rayl at #23 and a few more on top of that to pass Kirk Haston. If they win only one game in either tournament and he keeps that average he'll be knocking on Robert Johnson's #21 slot.
  3. I saw you posted this elsewhere earlier. Thanks. I imagine he will only get better in assists and steals as he matures too.
  4. Imagine Don Schlundt with longer games (didn't they use to have shorter games), a three-point line, the addition of a shot clock, etc. That man must have been ridiculous for his time.
  5. Verdell was in the top ten in assists as well, but he fell out as Yogi climbed the charts. He should still be sitting at number eleven in assists. It was interesting to see some of the few players in the top ten or 15 in multiple categories. To name a couple...my numbers might be slightly off...and I couldn't find blocks and steals lists...but for instance, Chris Reynolds was 8th in steals and 12th in assists...and DJ White was top 15 rebs and number 3 in blocks. Don Schlundt - 3rd in pts and 7th in rebs AJ Guyton - 4th in scoring and 8th in assists Yogi Ferrell - 6th in pts and 1st in assists Alan Henderson - 7th in pts, 1st in rebs, and 4th in steals (surprisingly) Damon Bailey - 8th in pts and 6th in assists Kent Benson - 9th in pts and 3rd in rebs Christian Watford - 10th in pts and 9th in rebs Mike Woodson - 5th in pts and 5th in steals Tom Coverdale - 3rd in assists and 6th in steals
  6. According to the coach's poll Indiana is still only the 8th best team in the Big Ten. I've always liked watching underdog Indiana teams. It's fun to watch a team we all know deserves to be in the top ten, but it was always a bit more fun for me to watch a team with fewer expectations climb out from "overlooked" status and become a contender...thinking back to the 2002 season with Coverdale, Moye, Jeffries, Newton, Fife, etc.

  8. I've never started a topic before, but with Juwan being the workhorse and leader he is, I thought this would be both fun and deserving to keep track of. Juwan is currently slotted between Jared Jeffries and Butch Joyner at number 51 on IU's all-time career scoring leaders with 1,020 points. He needs 11 points to move ahead of Butch Joyner and reach the top 50. As we all know Juwan Morgan is far from average, but with 20 games remaining and a current average of 17ppg, he could reach the top 25 before the Big Ten Tournament begins (if his scoring remains average). This would put him at 1,360 career points, passing Uwe Blab by 13 points to become the 25th all-time scorer. An additional 6 points in the Big Ten Tournament would move him into 24th, surpassing Andrae Patterson. With a little post-season success for IU (and if Juwan can maintain his current average), he could "easily" find himself in the top 20. Now, before anyone comes along and says, "Yeah, but there's no way he maintains that kind of average", please just let this play out. I, for one, have nothing but love and respect for Juwan and I believe he deserves this running tally throughout the season. Instead of doubting anything I've written (which was written purely statistically from this point in the season), please just root for him to break into the top 20. If he does, then IU's tournament success might likely be better than some of us have predicted. Thanks!
  9. No. I'm from Decatur, but I haven't lived there in almost 25 years.
  10. I assume they planned to get the ball in Romeo’s hands, but I’m so glad Romeo’s hand didn’t touch the ball (on the game-winning assist) or this one would have gone extra minutes. It was close.
  11. Decatur...represent!
  12. We need at least 7 more pages before it’s even possible, according to what I’ve been hearing anyways. Regardless, serve up the crow someone promised to eat for us. Thank you.
  13. And thank goodness if you’re an Indiana fan. And thank goodness if you care about Romeo. Bloomington is the best place for him. He knew he could be counted on to be a major factor, and he knew he would be. He knew this was an opportunity to shine on a team in need, and he knew it was a chance to stay closer to home one more year. Then, there’s what happens in the future. He will continue to be a humble and wonderful character, or so most anyone would suspect. That bodes well for Indiana...the university and the state. And it all bodes well for Romeo...the state already adores him, he chose home, and he’s going to have a spectacular season. He begins what many expect to be the trend of going back to in-state talent and creating championship caliber teams. Whether he plays one year or more, he’ll make a mark on the legend that is the program and the legend that has been created by Romeo’s abilities and his father’s presence and insight. Romeo’s dad surely would admit this made the most sense for his future career. Now, do I think IU would be terrible without him? No, I doubt it. They wouldn’t win nearly as many games this year though. Someone would step up well, but no one is capable of filling his shoes and his role on this year’s roster. Do I think they would be terrible, though? Doubtful. Mediocre, maybe...but even that is doubtful. I think they would compete with some big teams...win a couple and lose others. However, their chances of post-season success (especially), is credit to the ADDITION of Romeo (to not SUBTRACT anything from other players proudly wearing Cream and Crimson by choice).
  14. Nice Find. Thank you. I love articles like this, and with a kid like Romeo it seems deserving.
  15. And I should elaborate by adding that this rumor specifically stated that deer hunting posts would not count towards this required page number. Has anyone else heard this rumor?
  16. Rumor has it that Brooks refuses to commit to Indiana University until his favorite forum's thread dedicated to him reaches 100 pages. I don't know this for a fact. It was merely a rumor.
  17. Yes, my poor memory was correct.
  18. Wow, that is way too young. I remember his playing days. And, wow...6 players in top 14 of all-time scorers. I never would have guessed that, but then when I looked at the roster it seemed more believable. Is that the year Duke’s Christian Laettner should have been banned for his dumb BS of stomping on a Kentucky player?
  19. I have been told (by some Butler fans) that their fan base is among the most rude and obnoxious of any (this was their way of saying they hate their own fan base). I, too, really hope for a Keion commitment...but, I want it before this weekend. Also, I like dogs. My dog’s name is Romeo. He is from Tennessee and he couldn’t care less about basketball (from what I can tell). C’mon, Keion! We are ready.
  20. Stewart's enthusiasm on the court reminds me of Thomas Bryant's enthusiasm. Interesting.
  21. Dang. 84-44 i guess Pike was ranked 12th, but still. That’s a beatdown on the #1 team.
  22. Did they shut Davis down? Is Pike that good?
  23. Yes, to the sick passing game...even by the time he was an eighth grader.
  24. You're a genius...or, something close to it. I had no idea. Thank you. I just had to answer a simple question of when I last built something with Legos and I was in!
  25. How do you read this article without a subscription to Indy Star, which I personally find useless?
