2023 SF/PF Mackenzie Mgbako to Texas A&M via Portal
rcbowla replied to Chris007's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Same can be said about the vast majority of one and done's at KU as well I would assume. Generally if a kid is that talented they were that talented to begin with. College coaches do help them but odds are any college coach can get a one and done talent to be just that. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -

That is one of the most absurdly dumb articles of clothing my eyes have ever seen. And I've seen a meat dress. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -
(2024) - SG Gicarri Harris to Purdue

And if you get these kids to stay in the program this is a very good approach as you can have continuity with roster for several years. Their problem will be if they don't get that occasional star to go along with these 70-150's. It'll be interesting to see how the transfer portal continues to affect HS recruits and what programs ultimately benefit. Different approaches to be taken for sure. I'd say this dynamic should help lower P5's and mid majors but I'm afraid the opposite will actually be true as players look for 'g$eener' pastures. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -

If I'm negatively recruiting against IU in this recruitment I use 2 words. Tamar Bates. I'm not putting it all on the coaching staff but other team's will. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -

I'm used to us losing our collective **** on missing out on 5* HS recruits but it's going to take some getting used to the freaking out on missing a Harvard transfer type of player. And basing any recruitment on social media seems loosely grounded at best. Probably not a good indicator and although it can be something to watch I think it's pretty low on the ole' pole. We will have a roster and we'll see what that roster is capable of. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Am I in an alternate message board universe where people don't get you or have they never got you and I just assumed everyone else could gauge sarcasm? Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Don't know why but that last quote put a smile on my face. Humility and loyalty from MR. I mean obviously it helps when you see yourself being a major contributor on next year's team but still. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

This last season not so much but previous year yes we did see those problems prolonged at starts of both halves iirc Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

I wasn't suggesting that you were. It was more to the point of "just do what everyone else does". Guess I'd like to know then why more don't do that. I get continuity, minute roles, sub patterns Yada Yada but just like "if it ain't broke don't fix it" there's something to "if it is broke then fix it". Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

I guess if I were the coach and I had a lineup that had just cut a 10 pt deficit to 1 over last 8 minutes (for example). I'm coming out with that same lineup rather than the one that dug the original hole. I guess that's stupid because others don't do that Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

I'll ask you same question then. Does that make it the right choice? Sometimes doing something different is how you gain an advantage. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

I don't pay enough attention tbh. Does that make it right? To not put your team in the best position to win is malpractice as a coach. We have clearly seen times where that would've benefited the team. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Problem for him is though that he needs someone else to set him up. His release takes too long to be anything other than an open catch and shoot guy. But TG has shown that he works hard on his game so maybe that'll be the next step? Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

That is something I like about Woodson is that he'll roll with what is working. He does though drive me nuts at times with not changing starting lineups, especially in 2nd half. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

I agree with this except I see him as your 6th man not 7/8. He is the most versatile player, as far as position, on the team. So I think he is the first one in unless matchups with bigs dictates otherwise in the instance a big gets 2 quick fouls. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

I really like Cormac a lot. Everytime I watched ND he was giving everything he had and then some. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
