Anxious times. I think we're all waiting for the breaking news notification on our phone....imagine if Dolson gave Woodson the dreaded "vote of confidence." LOL. Yikes.... -

Jamarcus Ellis (RIP) died tragically in a car accident in 2023. From many accounts, he had a very tough childhood but he righted the ship and ended up working with students at a school in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/former-iu-basketball-player-jamarcus-ellis-has-passed-away/ -

I would venture to say 1 or 2 titles. He's a Hall a Fame coach. I've watched a couple of their games this year...their team reminds me a little bit of our 2006-2007 team...he doesn't have the offensive talent or star power he typically does...but they play hard nosed defense and win games that I'm not sure other coaches coaching would. Coleman Hawkins couldn't do anything against them the other day. Double Teams flying everywhere. -

Yup, I don't disagree about the some of the characters on the team.. I think he got in too deep with winning that season and unfortunately, that's what happened... He had recruited some high character guys the following year, who represented Crean's first years admirably (Pritchard, Roth, Elston) which tells me he knew he needed to infill the following year with quality guys. In terms of the grades though, they didn't fall apart until he was fired. The team saw the writing on the wall at that point. As you mentioned, it would've been great if it had worked...probably a couple of titles. Houston is a very nice city. Seems like CKS, learned post IU and in the NBA. Their program is fantastic. -

I'm sure Howard was devestated when he was fired. Can't imagine what his thoughts are now. -

No. A change was needed. CAM was an up and coming coach. He was the hottest ticket in the market. Unfortunately, just like Crean, Davis, Sampson etc...for one reason or another, it simply did not work at IU. -

I was going to say...different coach (Crean) but same issues. DUIs, getting arrested for entering bars underage, players running over other players, etc....say what you want about Sampson...but that dude has developed a tremendous culture at Houston. I've watched them play and if we could have just 10%,...just 10% of their toughness and defensive prowess, and culture they've developed we would be much better. Unfortunately, it didn't work out at IU but in terms of culture...it never has really worked at IU post Knight. Stevens and May immediately change that imo. -

Nobody really cares how the rest of this season plays out. Get Calbert to coach in the interim. The fanbase is united in Woodson being GONE...and if that means ASAP, so be it. -

This is the concern. Buckner will not turn his back on Woodson...and he probably cares less about the state of the program than Woodson. Buckner is quite literally a huge bottleneck in all of this. -

I was about to say…what good does it do keeping Woodson any longer? Tonight proved that point. Tag Calbert with the interim tag -

You could be right...I'm assuming though we would've had a very good chance of getting Oden, Conley, McRoberts and some of the other high end talent from the state in the early to mid 2000s. -

Yea…if we kept Bob Knight. It didn’t work out that way and the 02 Team backed Davis. Get over it. That was 23 years ago and our best team in 3 decades. -

Lol. Ok. We would’ve never had that Final Four run. But yea, whatever, keep hating on a former player and a former coach that represented the university well given his circumstances. -
