  1. Our shooters don't make shots. Big difference.
  2. They have shooters. We don't.
  3. We just can't afford to miss open shots. Not at this point.
  4. Apparently, so he could get posterized.
  5. Wish I had a tape of the Marquette game. I'd love to see what the heck we did that was so good that night that we haven't been able to replicate.
  6. Way, way, way too many empty possessions.
  7. We're 4 for 20 from the floor.
  8. We're awful at handling ball screens at the top of the key. We always have a botched switch and end up with two guys on the ball while the screener gets loose. Then we scramble to find him and by the time we do, it's too late.
  9. Game's 10 minutes old and we're down by 16. ... Pathetic!
  10. After Justin's awful pass, everybody just stood and watch as Nebraska ran their break. If a couple guys show some effort and get back, maybe we get the rebound off the miss. ... Absolutely no effort.
  11. This team has no fire in its belly.
  12. Two possessions. Two lazy passes. Two turnovers. Didn't even get a shot off.
  13. Hey Fox Sports One, we all know that Kyler Murray has declared for the NFL draft - can we drop the BREAKING NEWS scroll!
  14. Back to the norm -- an awful start.
  15. Looks as if Green is starting. Was really hoping Rob was ready to resume control of the point.
  16. Love that she has us in her final seven, but me being the eternal skeptic/pessimist, I'm wondering: Does she have a genuine interest in IU, or is she just throwing the home-staters a bone? Because we're in there with some heavy hitters (Gamecocks, Twerps and Lady Vols -- although the latter aren't what they once were).
  17. I hadn't seen this before -- and wish I hadn't now. I went from feeling pretty good to having a very bad headache in less than two minutes.
  18. Interesting: UCLA, trailing by nine with a minute left, forced OT and won at Oregon last night. Bruins are 3-0 under Murray Bartow. ... I read a couple websites that speculated the players were not terribly fond of Alford -- to put it kindly .. Wouldn't it be crazy if Bartow got them on track and got them to the NCAAs? ... Would they keep him (like we did with Mike Davis) or go after a bigger name? .
  19. I know earlier I wrote Jay Edwards (and there's an explanation for that). But here's another: Emmitt Holt -- dude has a beer or two, then gets behind the wheel and runs over his teammate.
  20. I guess it depends on what you mean by "Tree of Frustration." For me, the most frustrating player of the past 40 years was Jay Edwards. Not because his play was frustrating, but because he had a truckload of talent and it all went up in smoke -- literally. Bob Knight has said he pretty much never had a problem with what Edwards did on the court, but he had terrible personal habits (i.e. -- he apparently liked to get stoned to the beejezus belt). Plus, he had no business going to the NBA after two years. I just never though he was an NBA-caliber player, but thought he was a great college player and could've been greater had he stayed at IU. In 1991, can you imagine a starting lineup of Calbert Cheaney Eric Anderson Matt Nover (only because you gotta have some size) Greg Graham Jay Edwards with Damon Bailey, Pat Graham, Lyndon Jones, Chris Reynolds and Jamaal Meeks available off the bench. Or maybe you start Bailey and have Greg Graham come off the bench. Or to keep the legendary Marion duo together, you start Lyndon Jones and have Greg Graham and Bailey come off the bench. No matter how you line it up, that's some serious firepower! But someone who shall remain nameless felt firing up the hash pipe was more important than basketball.
  21. Archie on Rob: "As of right now, he's not (in a position to play at Maryland.) ... I'm encouraged to see him participate more in practice, but he has not been cleared to do anything full contact yet. He'll have another day today (Thursday), where hopefully we can get him moving in the right direction, but as of right now, there's no indication he'll play for us on Friday." On Davis: "De'Ron's still struggling a bit with his mobility. His ankle is sore. He's sorta in and out of practice. I'm hopeful he'll be available to play on Friday. But if he can't, Cliff Moore's gotta get in there and go. Fitzner's gotta give us more." On Forrester: "With his ankle, Jake still isn't doing really well." Jeez -- with what we had coming into this season and after the Marquette game, I thought we could be a top four team in the B1G and maybe a Sweet 16 NCAA team (I work with a Marquette grad who came up to me after that game and said "Boy, you guys are REALLY good!") ... But with all these injuries, we'll be lucky to finish .500 in the league and get a 9 or 10 seed. It's such a shame to see Romeo's and Juwan's only season together be so average because we're getting so hammered by injuries.
  22. I'm assuming Phinisee is still out (and maybe Davis, too), so ... Turtles 75 Hoosiers 68
  23. Love him or hate him, I'm starting to think Matt Canada might end up being a long-shot anyway. In addition to the possibility of heading to Northern Illinois as the head man, I've seen reports linking him to OC gigs with Southern Cal, Georgia and Pitt, and he interviewed with Tennessee before they hired Georgia's OC. ... All those jobs -- and there are probably others -- are more attractive than IU, I would think.
