  1. Totally agree. And I will never let go of my ire for Kelvin Sampson and the NCAA for knocking us down when we were still in that top group. UNC and UK get away with the down eras because they quickly recovered from those eras. If Sampson could have controlled his texting, I think we would have too.
  2. Sam Vecenie, writer for The Athletic, and Matt Pennie, former player at UMass, ranked the 25 best college basketball jobs on Sam’s Game Theory Podcast. They took budget, track record of success, local recruiting area, facilities, fanbase, and job security all into account. They ranked IU 7th, saying that everything was elite besides the recent track record of success. They also went off on a tangent about how they think Tamar Bates is awesome. The podcast was done in two parts: 13-25 and 1-12. The top 12 were broken down into 3 informal tiers (although they said these are all elite jobs): Tier 1 1. UK 2. North Carolina 3. Kansas 4. Duke Tier 2 5. Texas 6. Louisville 7. Indiana Tier 3 8. Ohio St 9. UCLA 10. Arizona 11. Michigan St. 12. Michigan I think the ranking is fair for how we are now, although I think if we get it turned around we will prove we are a better job than Louisville especially. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/game-theory-podcast/id1054081827#episodeGuid=3265b3d6-3e30-11eb-a8f3-67d1cd65403d Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Significantly better tweeting from everyone involved in the program since the coaching change IMO. Everyone seems unleashed and willing to post more interesting content. Exhibit A: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Beard to Texas really was a match made in Heaven. If everything works out there, UT could really be set to rise to the top echelon of college basketball, especially if some current elite programs fumble coaching changes.
  5. I feel like some things are starting to be said about players that we’d be embarrassed if those players saw. Can we keep it respectful of everyone?
  6. I guess it’s possible they may feel that Trey’s shot is unfixable (don’t agree), but you need developmental players in your system who will become contributors and starters in later years or you’re stuck in the position of trying to replace your whole roster every couple years. Are there even enough minutes that (barring some really terrible injury luck) we would need Trey to contribute. We seem very deep already. Brooks is good if we do have to lose Trey though.
  7. A bunch of our recent offers seem to be players that Rosemond has a connection to. The recruiting section has all the offers.
  8. God what I would give for someone to give Priller a 10-day contract. C’mon someone’s gotta be tanking hard enough for us to have NBA Priller Time.
  9. So a typical West Laf grindr pic? (If you don’t know what that means, do not look that up. I am not responsible for shocking sensibilities!)
  10. One thing I’ve noticed is a big pickup in participation from NBA types in our social media mentions. Like, below is Joe Johnson randomly in our IG comments on a yoga post. But he played for Woody in Atlanta and also commented on our post when we hired Woodson. Wonder if we can get people to come to games?
  11. The Syracuse loss definitely hurts, but maybe I am alone but it stings a little less in retrospect seeing how many other teams Syracuse’s zone has done that to ij the tournament. I’ll still probably never get over how unprepared it seemed we were, but I think history has born out that their zone is really hard to prepare for on short notice and gets a lot of people.
  12. He honestly sounds perfect for what Woodson wants in his system. Able to switch on everything and can play inside or outside. That versatility would be very attractive. Come on Coach Ya, help us get this one!
  13. I think Bates has as good or better a chance to be a 25+ minute guy as Geronimo.
  14. Fans literally speaking this into existence would be the funniest thing. I want Keion to just do it for the hype at this point.
  15. We really need young bigs for after Trayce/Race leave, so I’d wait for Reid I guess.
  16. If what the coaches allegedly told Brunk about his role here is true, it doesn’t sound like they have much interest in playing two bigs unless one can shoot the ball really well.
  17. To be perfectly honest, a championship contender might be a lot for Woodson to turn us into in one offseason (although he’s doing his best to improve us so far!)
  18. He would be pretty good, I have to admit. Depends on development of course. And we might be looking there.
  19. First, if we are recruiting Reid and Kopp (very different players), I wonder if we expect to lose someone else. Second, could just be Kenya trying to build a relationship for the future. With the one time transfer rule, recruiting doesn’t end with their first program.
  20. What we needed was Chet Holmgren lol. A 5 on defense and a wing on offense. But in realistic terms, there just aren’t many players in the portal who make sense. Unless they have the very particular set of skills we need, they risk getting buried by TJD on any depth chart. A normal 5 would have to count on TJD becoming a stretch 4 and a normal stretch 4 wouldn’t be the defensive improvement at the 5.
  21. Rabby thinks a decision is close too. Should know soon.
  22. Love that he is described as an “intense competitor”! We need some of that fire and between X and Bates we are getting a lot of it coming into our backcourt!
  23. Can we talk about the transfer portal? I’ve been reluctantly very impressed with Beard’s moves so far at Texas. He’s just racking up transfers.
  24. Okay so as a noob, how in the world do I embed tweets? Is there a post somewhere for this.
