This probably sums it up. Top tier players don’t want to play for her for whatever reason…even those on her USA National teams. Colsten might recruit well here, but eventually will get a bigger gig if it holds up.

Nah, I applaud your fandom, but I was always pulling for things too get better and better but the reality is what it is I’m afraid.

It means that I think we are trending downward after having the stands full and a full head of steam only to go backwards, have a mass exodus of players, scrambling to field a halfway descent roster because of not utilizing NIL (supposedly) Not winning recruiting battles for top tier talent (for the most part) I know 28/30ish is better than we've done before but I doubt will still be enough to get to the upper tier of the Big IMO. So, from my view I see us being average to good and possibly a really good season here and there in the future but not great. Not to mention losing home games in the tourney like in the first round at home to Miami and under performing with really good teams in the past.

Not pining for her dismissal, I have hoped she would succeed and have supported her teams. I just have my doubts she can get her teams to be title contenders. TTT summed it up above. There is some kind of disconnect somewhere and I thought this was a place to talk about such things..:)

I would share some of your enthusiasm if this years team at least looked good in losses but my realistic side says otherwise. There is Something missing in this program that a few nice freshmen can’t fix imo.

I get it, but this just looks like bad basketball in the sets and plays we are running. Execution, mistakes, movement, flow all look off. No post presence is obvious, but she didn’t recruit anyone past Z (who was injury prone last year at UCLA.)

Yeah, I don’t know what the disconnect is, maybe she lost her fire or whatever it is I doubt we go very far up from here if at all. Some good coaches aren’t the best evaluators etc…She hit her stride and lost it big time. You’re right in that this roster looks like an afterthought when she had a couple key pieces to work with in Shay and Z and the fall off is big after that. Also, seems like the players that left last season are thriving more so than when they were here which is also concerning.

I think she has had enough time to prove it. This just seems like total mismanagement of player evaluation yet again and also getting behind the 8 ball on NIL is enough for me.

I’d say we’ve hit our ceiling with Terri and I think it’s time to move on as unpopular as that might be.

I would argue TC/LM and Bailey (for a big man) are pretty athletic…then there’s a size able drop off. Not trying to pile on here but one thing I have not understood is why we went 3/4 of the way around the world to bring in a Serbian big who will not even be close to seeing the floor this year. There were several guys around his size that we played on teams like Lindenwood {would have to go back and look at those rosters again ) that would’ve been a far better option.imo. If anything I’ve learned from Cignetti is that a really good coach these days especially with NIL knows and zeros in on exactly the right type of player they are looking for to fit their program . (AKA Dusty May). Hoping Devries can get it figured out because he does actually have a good track record.
