As it stands, with excellent coaching and luck with injuries I think we can be a good team - one more added quality Big depth piece (4/5 combo) and I'd say we could be in with the cream of the crop.

Sorry, I believe what I read was a misprint. Don't seem to be any descent bigs left to reclassify..

Why not? If we had the money, I can't imagine why he wouldn't. He developed nicely in this system, even with a flawed team. He could do great things this upcoming season with a better supporting cast imo.

I wish the mens program wasn't so tight lipped and something would leak out about the next move or not....inquiring minds need to know..

If we only get the 1 out of those 3, (from watching the highlight reels) I'd say we got the best one to fit what we need. Next I'd take Backo.

Gacic looks pretty thin, but Backo could probably hold his own in the Big.

Yes....those who are in charge are hopefully looking to get a 4/5 descent combo player. I don't know all the avenues, but if I had a bunch of money to throw around, I would pitch in extra for depth. Maybe the plan is to see how well DD can coach up this group before adding more to the pot. Who knows, but if I was spending several million dollars, I would want the best team possible.

I think we are all in agreement that this was a good portal haul but we lack depth. This is the year we needed to spend bigger than any other year to get us moving in the right direction and recover from last year imo. Adding a GM raised expectations that we could cover all our bases and be confident about next season, but we still have holes to fill. The Big being the grind that it is requires adequate depth and usually not relying on freshmen. I thought we would at least get a descent backup 4 and settle for Lindsay sliding over to cover Burton when needed but we really needed a backup pg also. That being addressed would of covered most concerns for this season. We still have a chance I guess to get another backup but pickings are slim.

I could see that, but I could also see it be fairly comparable too… maybe not but I can’t imagine we would pay that much for a player with quite a few limitations.

How do we know Dorn wasn’t asking more than we paid Harris?

That’s interesting, I guess he was ranked so high coming out of high school based on his shooting ability.

The “cost” could be valued in what the staff thinks the difference between a top 40 prospect ceiling is vs Dorn possibly being maxed out on potential.

I agree, and hopefully so. What part of Harris athleticism do you see as a challenge?

I need to watch more Harris highlights. Harris top 40 prospect…Dorn unranked out of HS.

I think we are all basically saying the same thing ;) Maybe..just maybe the silence on the last player is going to be a good surprise!

Good point…that may have cost us the first year more than we know.

I thought we hired a GM for scouting services? Hopefully they noticed something about his game they think will surpass Dorn, maybe defense, IQ, higher ceiling in the long run? We’ll see I guess.

Ok, we haven’t been relevant for sure, but DD could’ve transitioned here like Dusty, or Cig that has been mentioned bringing in assistant coaches and former players, etc., but for whatever reason he didn’t, and so our first year was what it was, but in this era, a great coach can turn around a program in the first year or two, which is the point no matter how miserable we have been we have resources that are far superior to Most.
