I didn’t mean to imply that. I was just referring to the fact that Mcollums transfer to Iowa had more of a strategy in place where as it didn’t seem DD did for whatever reason as you stated (also not having much to work with)

Ok, I don’t remember who he brought except for Stirtz. Coaching is also networking and keeping your assistants/strategy together and obviously Mcollum won on that front also.

It will prob come down to weather big donors have the confidence in him to throw a big bag his way to overspend x at least 5 players in the portal. That is the only way out as I can see. On that note…not looking good.

Didn’t seem to be that big of a problem for Mcollum? Looks like he just did a way better job scouting and coaching thus far. This Iowa teal looked locked in and formidable.

There should be clauses in contacts for coaches to give money back if they stink.

It will be interesting to see who they identify and who they go after in the portal. I hope they are receiving adequate resources to land the players in need. Much like the mens team, I think we are going to have to over pay this year to beef up our roster and maybe for a few more cycles.

Who knows, maybe Colston Thompson can actually get her the players that she can win with. I’ve always wanted her to remain the coach at IU and was extremely hopeful a few years back. If they can retain the incoming freshman and hit it big in the portal maybe there’s a chance.

Agree, and like I said, might be time to move on to someone who understands the modern era of recruiting/coaching evaluation process. I doubt we overcome our flaws that go back to being the #1 seed and losing at home to Miami. Wish Teri the best and thankful for what we had when we had a glimmer of hope and the stands were full for a moment in time. I don’t see things changing if she stays. There is a disconnect somewhere that I doubt we will ever be able to understand exactly.

Yep, no point in traveling across the globe to bring a guy in who is know where ready and may not ever be ready. He didn’t pass the eye test on the highlight videos i’m sure for most of us, so not sure what the coaches were seeing? Looks like we will have to overpay to get back on track like Waynefleek suggested, but you still have to identify the right players for your system. DDV has his work cut out. Maybe things would’ve been better with Harris/Drake in the mix. Hope they get back soon.

This offseason portal haul should tell us a lot about the direction of IU Basketball imo.

That idea floated around seems crazy to me, but either way if true or not TM hasn’t been able to build a complete title contending team here. More help is also on the way for a ton of good teams as well. I do feel for Shea.

Can someone explain why Terri has assistants do the in game X’s & O’s during game huddle timeouts? Is that common in the women’s game? I find it odd.

I don't think we cover the spread. Zania doesn't seem to be a full go yet as she is probably trying to get back to game shape after her recovery. We just don't have enough fire power to beat a good Nebraska team at home imo. Would be nice if we could keep it competitive though.

My Aunt/Uncle live there and the people are very friendly fer sure.
