  1. Thanks for sharing Chris. This is what I figured Archie's small ball lineup would look like. I figure Fitzner gets the nod over McRoberts or Smith if he wants to go big. I'm pretty sure those five along with Fitzner get the lionshare of minutes.
  2. I can see some similarities- elite frontcourt player, elite incoming in-state freshman, 2nd year coach. But outside of Bassett, Ellis, and Crawford-there was not that much depth. I think this team will have more but who knows. Still think that team 10 years ago would've done some damage in the NCAA's.
  3. and this is a good thing. That team with with Eric Gordon and DJ White relied heavily on those two. I think there is a lot of depth on this team.
  4. I think that could happen but to me it all comes down to who steps up offensively. Juwan had about 17 a game last year. Fitzner, Justin Smith, Devonte, Al, and the rest will determine how much "ball" will go around. I'm going to say 17 a game for Romeo but he could easily pass 20.
  5. Yup. I think this team is going to do better than most project. Romeo and Juwan are too good of a 1-2 combo.
  6. Don't think Loyola will be as good as last year but they still should win the MVC.
  7. Saw Romeo had 19 points and 10 rebounds
  8. lol their fans will tell you Brooks is ranked too low for them. What a joke. I don't care where he is ranked he will be a very good player no matter where he goes. I think he is a one and done.
  9. I agree with this. Yes, Loyola got hot at the right time last year but they lost three key players. I don't think this game will be close. IU by 10. But heck it's only a secret scrimmage. Cheers to college hoops being back!
  10. Not at all. Rodney Watson, their coach, is the D2 version of Crean. One postseason win in 10 years...They always have talent too.
  11. Not surprised IU is 28. Very rarely do teams who miss the NCAA and NIT start the season ranked. A lot of unknown and a chip on their shoulder!! I do agree Purdue at 24 is crap. Carsen will ball for them and that's it.
  12. haha I'm sure this was a clean recruitment, right?
  13. I hope next week or the end of the month. If this drags on he might be a Bruin...or at least until March when Alford gets fired.
  14. If they underachieve this year (they have lots of talent) he will be gone.
  15. Exactly. The Pac 12 is weak so they will probably make the tournament as a bubble team.
  16. That is another reason I still favor IU. I see UCLA not living up to expectations with Tyger and O'Neal out. Wherever he goes I'll root for TJD. Think he will be a very good college player.
  17. I had the same thought last week but I still think it is a heavy IU lean. I've noticed with this recruitment that a lot of bigger schools stayed away from TJD. UNC and UCLA were the only other "blue bloods" involved (yes I still consider IU one). No Duke no Kentucky and no Kansas. I think part of that reason is schools know he is a heavy IU lean. I'm like everyone else and hope he commits soon but I'm glad he is enjoying the process. Only happens once in your life.
  18. Is this going to be like DJ Carton where he announces his top three and then commits a week later? I hope it's not a surprise like DJ's....
  19. I said the same thing to someone on Saturday. Part of the reason Hoosier Hysteria was so early was to get the hoopla out of the way and get to work. Marquette is not an easy team who will be dancing in March. They have a couple of really good studs. I think Arkansas has a big man that is projected to go in the lottery. The non-con isn't the hardest slate ever but it sure is an improvement. Also, thank god for no Indiana State or IPFW. Lol I was at the Indiana State game last year and it was miserable.
  20. Exactly. It sounds like a good problem to have. Practices should be very competitive. My guess is Archie goes only ten deep. I'd be surprised if there isn't a transfer during or after the season. It is tough to keep that many guys happy.
  21. Jake looked awesome in the scrimmage. I am not worried about our frontcourt at all. I am just curious on how deep Archie will go. The end of our bench is as good as it has been in a LONG time. I just hope guys will buy into the program even if they don't play right away.
  22. I too think he is on a short leash. I think he is your starting PG right now but If Phinisee shows he is capable then I think he may take over the starting PG spot. We will see. Might be the biggest question mark on the team.
