  1. Spot-on. Maryland and Rutgers are the only B1G football programs I'd put below us. At least Illinois has a coach that has had some type of postseason experience in football. What is sad is I think the talent is there.
  2. That's my thing. The worst major college football program got a National Championship winning coach. Football is very important too and it's clearly not to our administration.
  3. Yes, Lynch was actually worse than Tom Allen. Kevin Wilson brought in some talent but still wasn't the answer. Brohm was there for IU in 2016. He would have been perfect here. Has had less talent than IU and still is going to a bowl game.
  4. A recruiting class that ESPN and 247 has as 10th best in the Big Ten.... I'm not a fan of CTA at all. I don't think he did anything to deserve this job. Next year is a BIG year for him. If IU has another 5-7 season or worse he should be gone. Kevin Wilson wasn't the answer either but he brought in some talent towards the end of his IU tenure.
  5. I agree with you. I don't think IU will ever contend for a B1G championship in football. However, I feel a coach like Fitzgerald or Ferentz could have won 8-9 games with this team.
  6. Yet IU gets crap for Romeo's "development". Makes sense.
  7. WOW...maybe one more football program that is more of a mess than ours. Heck, their whole athletic department.
  8. and Indiana even lost the bowl game Tommy boy coached. It was just so silly how he was handed this job.
  9. Have to hit on the 2019 In-State class...nothing in 2020. 2021 will be loaded.
  10. I'm glad I'm not the only IU fan that thinks this. He should be fired for this. He missed on Wilson and he missed on this. What other Big Ten schools does the AD miss on two football hires and keeps his job? Tom Allen never even made it to state as a high school football coach. He is Tom Crean 2.0. He could be a decent coordinator but NOT a head coach. IU football will be 3-9 in football really soon. PJ Fleck, Jeff Brohm, Luke Fickell, Justin Wilcox, Matt Rhule, Major Applewhite, and Charlie Strong were all there in 2016. All are WAY better than clappy Tom.
  11. Title should read Glass thinking of turning over head coaching duties to someone else.
  12. The Tom Allen hire should get Fred Glass fired. Ridiculous... Football is important too. I get moving on from Kevin Wilson (he wasn't the guy either) but I'm tired of IU football being mediocre. They can win 8-10 games a season with the right leadership. Look at Northwestern or Iowa. Find a Pat Fitzgerald or Kirk Ferentz. I laugh when people were so happy IU was getting some of these recruits yet the class was ranked near dead last in the Big Ten. Hence back to back 5-7 seasons....with a loss to your rival to end the season. IU football needs a change and maybe a change in administration as well. Glass is 0-2 on big time hires so far. The best thing he has done was booting Crean and hiring Archie. I hope I'm not the only fan thinking this either.

  14. This. I just hope we are healthy come December 8.
  15. That's the thing. From January to March they face no competition and that hurts. I can see them in the final four but it's going to hurt them. The ACC, Big Ten, and SEC look loaded this year.
  16. Exciting year for college hoops! Gonzaga plays Tennessee and UNC still. If they can get past those two teams an undefeated season could happen.
  17. I knew Duke would be good but I didn't think they'd be this good. Their freshmen look like veterans. I don't know if we've ever seen a player like Zion. RJ is a stud. Their bench has played well at times too. Sad think is Auburn is a decent team.
  18. I am shocked. This is a perfect opportunity for them. They have to look awful in practice to not even log a single minute. I'm surprised Jake isn't playing. He looked good in the USI game. I do think Clifton could transfer.
  19. IF IU has only six players yes. It won't be pretty. If IU was healthy I really think this team could beat them. Injuries are just killing us. Obviously hurts to have some guys playing the whole half.
  20. Overall thoughts...man this team has to get healthy. The sky isn't falling though folks. We all know a seven man rotation won't cut it. I just hope they can get these guys back for the early Big Ten season. Still way too many turnovers. A lot has to do with fatigue. My biggest concern is Forrester and Moore. How bad do they look in practice for them to not even log a single minute? I get they're raw but my goodness IU has six players out...
  21. I hear you. Just with Romeo and Juwan I’d like to be better. I’ll take it considering we’ve missed the dance the last two years. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. Frustrating loss. I'm the person that prefers blowout losses over close games that you should have won. The missed free throws, turnovers, and the ending was brutal. We can blame the refs and injuries all we want. Bottom line is Indiana should have won this game. The good news is this team is going to learn a lot from this game. If you want to be a contender in March you have to win games on the road in a tough environment. This loss does not change the way I feel about this team. Gafford is going to be a top ten pick in the NBA draft. He may be one of the best players this team sees all year. De'Ron got a lot of crap but I thought he played well off the bench. Fitzner, who I thought was going to be the X factor, had a rough game. I love Damezi's potential but this team is in trouble if he was to play 26 minutes. His game just isn't there yet. Lets just hope this is a learning lesson. I really don't want this to be an average 7-10 seed team in the tournament. There are some special players on this team.
  23. This game reminds me of the 2011 NC State road game. Arkansas is a halfway decent team. Still really confident in this team to win. I think Fitzner is too much off the bench. IU 72 Arkansas 63.
  24. Monday: #9 Auburn vs. Xavier #1 Duke vs. San Diego State Chicago State @ East Tennessee State Arizona vs. Iowa State USC vs. Texas Tech #17 Mississippi State vs. Arizona State #3 Gonzaga vs. Illinois Tuesday: UT Arlington @ Indiana Wright State vs. Penn State Santa Clara vs. Minessota Texas A&M vs. Washington Wednesday: Wisconsin vs. Stanford Louisville vs. #5 Tennessee #24 Marquette vs. #2 Kansas- Would be HUGE for IU if Marq wins this one Dayton vs. Butler Washington vs. Minnesota Thursday: #11 Michigan State vs. #20 UCLA Friday: UC Davis @ Indiana Saturday: Houston @ BYU Colorado @ Air Force
  25. Very good read. I wasn't around for a lot of these teams but the '75 and '93 teams should have won it all.
