Exactly. Could you imagine being a Drake, Clemson, Creighton, or McNeese State fan excited to find out on Sunday where your team is headed for the tournament and 24 hours later hear your coach is bailing once you lose? Announcements like that happen after teams are eliminated.

Would be weird to announce a new coach on Monday when the candidates we are hearing about are preparing for a tournament game (and likely IU). Unless it is someone currently not coaching… I do think no matter what that Dolson will wait until our season is finished out of respect for the current team and staff. They can wait until the season is done and not take attention away from the guys still playing.

Maybe not day 1 but once they see how he can coach and the NIL that IU can offer I don't think he will have any issue brining in top recruits. Every coach has done it before. How do you think Ballo, Rice, and Tucker wound up at IU? It wasn't because of Woody's coaching. They went to the highest bidder.

Wright was burnt out and didn't want to deal with the NIL and constant transfer issues that college coaches are faced with now. I don't see why he would come back and deal with all of that now unless he really misses coaching.

Why do they “need to win big right away”? Of course we would all like to see the new coach have them at the top of the conference next year, but if it takes until year 2 or 3 and the coach is building the program up in a way that makes sense and will lead to long term success then I’m good with that.
