  1. Not as negative about Green as many on here. Does he still make some bonehead mistakes at times, yes, but he also makes some plays that no one else on our team can make. I'm not advocating for him to start over Rob or even play a ton of minutes but for a stretch there, he and Rob played very well together. I think that should be a combination that should get more run. IMO we played our best basketball of the game in the 1st half with Rob, Devonte, Romeo, and Juwan all on the floor at the same time.
  2. What I really like about the offers we have out in the 2019 class is that regardless of the position they play, they all play with an edge, they are tough, and seem to be very confident in themselves while all being team first guys. These are the types of players that are needed to make a special team.
  3. What an incredible read. Thanks for sharing that Hoosier41. What an incredible ambassador to have for IU basketball. He just described what we all think, but did it on a national platform. Not only is he an unbelievable basketball player, he's an unbelievable human being. We are lucky to have had him here for 3 years and are even luckier to have him back in the state now. Every kid we are recruiting right now should read this article.

  5. TJD - IU Brooks - IU
  6. Saw someone mention that there is a way to mute certain peoples posts. Anyone care to tell me how to do that
  7. While Billy D would have obviously been a big name hire, I don't think you can say FG choked by not hiring him. First of all, we don't even know Donovan's true interest in the job at the time. Also, it's VERY possible FG hired an absolute star in Archie. Archie, assuming all goes well--and it's hard to envision a scenario where it wouldn't, could be the coach here for 30 plus years. He's young, hungry, and if his recruiting takes off and he keeps producing results like he is with this year's untalented group he will be special. Archie is coming at the absolute perfect time IMO. The majority of coaches at the other blue blood programs are well on the back end of their careers (Coach K, Calipari, Roy Williams, even throw Izzo in there with the mess he has on his hands), and IU just hired a guy that could lead their program for the next 30 years. Archie could seize this opportunity and bring IUBB to crazy heights while these other programs are looking for new coaches to replace their retired legendary coaches. In Archie I trust lol.
  8. Let those little birds chirp all they want. It will be great to see their reactions when/if Romeo dons the cream and crimson. Still believe the Langford's high basketball IQ will win out here and Romeo will end up at IU.
  9. Any chance he could reclassify and be apart of 2018 recruiting class? He would certaintly add depth down low and could help our chances with landing Romeo
  10. I think Al Durham will be a good player for us and has been a pleasant surprise this season but I just don't think he is ready to be the primary ball handler yet like some of you want (which would be a lot to ask of him). I know DeVonte can be a complete mess with the ball at times, but dang I think he needs more minutes. He is a good ball handler, excellent at getting the ball into the post, and is probably the best (streaky, I know) shooter on the team. He provides offense at the guard position. I wish he could just be smarter out there and play within the flow of the game. We really have no offense outside of Juwan and De'Ron.
  11. Everyone needs to pump the breaks. Archie Miller didn't come this far, to only come this far. I truly believe that Archie is letting Vandy lay all their cards on the table before he comes in to seal the deal. He and the staff will come up with something creative to impress the Garland's when they visit, just like he did at HH. Vandy is selling DG on the idea of "what-could-be" if he stayed home, but DG and his family experienced the power of Hoosier Nation first hand at HH and aren't being sold on an "idea". Nothing Coach Drew can say will have an impact that walking across that floor did for the Garlands (put a tear in Mrs. Garland's eye or let dad live out a childhood dream of his). To me, the most telling thing in this whole recruitment is the words Winston Garland has said about IU that he hasn't said about the other schools pursuing DG. He will play a huge role in this decision. I think DG deep down he knows where he wants to go but hasn't worked up the courage to tell Vandy, the home school, no. It is a lot of pressure for a 18 year old kid, but in the end, I think IU checks off too many boxes Vandy can't, and Darius will be a Hoosier.
  12. This may not be the appropriate thread to ask this is in, but since it was brought up i figured id ask. Obviously IU is in a great position with TJD and a commitment sometime in the near future seems likely. I feel IU will try and sign some combination of 3 out of TJD, Brooks, Watford, and Hurt. Based off what has been shared on this board it seems like IU is also in a good spot with Brooks. Do you know who IU is prioritizing between Watford and Hurt, and does IU have a good shot to sign either?
  13. I know it's highly unlikely but what if Romeo and Darius both commit at the same time tonight, on Romeo's birthday. Could explain Jerry Meyer's crystal ball activity and the picture of them taken together at HH.
  14. I really like this kids potential and wouldn't get wrapped up in his low rank. He looks long and extremely athletic (especially his calves). I don't think you can underestimate the importance of having athletic bigs in Archie's system. When Archie said he was going to base his recruiting model off UNC, he wasn't joking. I feel Forrester will play a similar role to UNC's Isaiah Hicks and be a great rim protector, has the ability to get out in transition/run the floor, and make plays above the rim. I truly believe he will play a key role in the years to come.
  15. I thought all around this presser was about as good as I could have imagined. The part I enjoyed the most was his plan to get IU basketball more involved at all levels of Indiana basketball, from high school to the grass routes level. I think the AAU and high school coaches get so sick of the lip service and what-can-you-do-for-me-now attitude that I feel like Crean had. If he builds genuine relationships I think this will go a long way in helping him build his reputation around the state and with landing the elite talent around the state. Not sure if it's NCAA legal, but an interesting move he could make is do satellite camps around the state on Indiana much like Harbaugh does around the country. Could be a great way to accelerate recruiting and unite the state. As each day passes, I get more and more excited at the thought of Coach Archie Miller at IU.
  16. We all want the best for IU basketball, but all I ask is that we all support him and give him a couple years to build his credibility and reputation at IU. No coach can be successful with a fan base that isn't on board. I know he isn't the sexiest hire, but I truly believe he has potential to be a star. Being around him at UD, I have never seen a more loved coach by the community than him. Those who say he is a Crean haven't watched him coach. He makes no excuses and his teams play tough, discipline basketball. I'm eager to see how he does. Go Hoosiers
  17. Please tell me how many recruits were knocking down the door to play at UK prior to coach Cal? We shouldn't hold ourself to a high standard because recruits aren't knocking down our door? Laughable IU will be mentioned with the likes of Duke, Kansas, UK, once they land a big time head coach.
  18. Off topic, but that PTI segment reminded me of something I have thought for awhile. Jay Williams and Jay Bilas are two of the best college basketball commentators I have heard in a long time. Both of them are honest, unbiased, and very informational. Not that I think they'd leave broadcasting but I think Jay Williams would be a fantastic assistant coach somewhere and I think Bilas would make an outstanding AD for a university. I wouldn't mind either of them at IU
  19. Been away from the message boards for a few days due to work. Anyone care to update me with the newest rumors about who we are targeting and who is interested in being our next coach?
  20. I'd ask Mr. Cuban if he hired someone to run part of his company that had promised to bring back the old profitability of his company to its former sales numbers and after 9 years helping run the company, the company hadn't got anywhere near its old numbers, would you, Mr. Cuban, retain that person, or would you fire them? Not to mention it's the 2nd worse year ever with the company. It just doesn't add up anyway you look at it, he has to go. Disappointed in seeing Cubes back Crean.
  21. I have always felt this way about Crean and this past season reaffirmed my thoughts. Tom Crean has been and will always be an underdog. He does not know how to coach or win when he is considered the favorite. This is why his teams that have the most pressure fold and his teams that have no pressure rise. This is why he beats the teams he isn't suppose to and loses to the teams he shouldn't. This is why he misses out on the top dogs and can recruit the crap out of the "hidden gems" that fall through the cracks (birds of the same feather, flock together). This is why he can get guys like Victor Oladipo and OG to buy into him and the reason he can't get guys like JBJ and Noah Vonleh to buy into his system. You can hate on Cal all you want, but he can put any 5 star that steps foot onto his team into place and make them buy into his culture. Crean however, coddles them and lets them walk all over him before its too late. He isn't an alpha (not saying this is a bad thing) but IU is an alpha job. Crean's most successful season, was with a bunch of misfits (3 star guys cast aside by the big programs, besides Yogi and Cody) that bought into his culture and found success. This is why I truly believe that Crean would excel at a job that is okay to take on the underdog role. You can't make someone into something they are not. It's time to move on. Even the right decision is the wrong decision when made too late. THE TIME IS NOW
  22. Glass not commenting tonight sets the stage for him to announce Crean is gone tomorrow or Thursday, in a presser imo. Maybe wanted to announce it on his terms and not others. If he knew Crean was coming back then I think he makes comments tonight to media backing Crean.
  23. I've never seen someone try and cover Crean's butt like Paul Biacardi is tonight. Honestly unbelievable
  24. I agree it could be the case, but this team has been dealing with failure all season and knew they weren't making the NCAA. I find it weird that tonight of all nights, after everything that went on, that they voice their dealings of failure.
  25. Thomas Bryant: "The pain deep I can feel it in my stomach... but thats the pain and the hunger... to feel success you gotta struggle. to get where I'm at i had to hustle.. thats why I'm humble." Rojo: "Forward Always" JBJ: "Never let success get to your head or failure get to your heart." Curtis Jones: "No rules, Anything Goes." Freddie McSwain: "How many times should I have to stress. I wonder why I'm not like the rest." These are the ones I follow, but I find it very weird they are all posting pictures with these interesting captions all within a couple hours of each other, with everything thats going on. I may be reading into stuff, but this just seems off to me.
