  1. KU was won plenty of biddding though. Most recently poaching Josh Jackson from Michigan St. Hopefully, the big payments come out similar to AZ. Also, Billy Preston who never played a game for KU due to issues around a car he was driving around campus in.
  2. Having a hard time seeing many BIG schools involved. Maybe Michigan? As for other schools - Baylor, AZ, AZ St, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Miami, Ga Tech, Bama, Auburn, A&M, KU (although blueboods are protected)...none of these would surprise me and some have already been named in previous report.
  3. Yeah I agree. It is also pretty strange for a 20 year old to have an achilles injury. Usually that kind of injury happens further down the road. For Davis to get back to 100% or as close to that as possible it will likely be 9 months. That's full speed and doing everything. That puts the clock around October. That makes me think it's gonna be hard for him to have a productive year next season with his conditioning/quickness already being a negative factor.
  4. I don't see it that way. We clearly need shooters on this team. It's not like we are stockpiled with depth at any positions. If anything it means some of the guys we are seeing this year will get less minutes next year which is good.
  5. Two main problems with Creans' rosters: 1) Getting players that should never have been recruited to IU (Priller, April, Bawa) to name a few. Recruiting was just too inconsistent with attracting top talent. 2) Not compiling a balanced roster (no shooters, PG's, lack of bigs). No shooters in 2013 and then when Fischer transferred we didn't have any bigs. This year we have no scorers basically and are devoid of good ball-handlers and had no bigs outside of Davis. This is why we were so inconsistent year in and year out. There were only two rosters that seemed really well put together since his tenure. The 2012 team with Zeller, Oladipo, Sheehey, Yogi, Watford, Hulls and the 2015 roster with Yogi, Blackmon, Zeisloft, Bryant, Hartman, OG, Beidfeldt, Troy. Other than that, it was a mixed bag of all sorts of parts.
  6. It wasn't directed at anyone in particular and sorry it was taken that way. I guess my question is what could CAM be doing differently with the roster he has? Winning cures all but it seems pretty hard to win when you have guys missing layups, FT's, no one to run or initiate the offense, no one that can post up and get easy buckets outside of Morgan etc. I get the frustration as much as anyone. It sucks being in this spot. But to me, that's on Glass for keeping Crean too long. This was Crean's mo...a couple good years and then a bad year...a couple good years and then a stinker. These are his guys. I don't know what's so underwhelming about Archie considering the hires other schools got. Billy Donovan wasn't available unfortunately.
  7. Schootchie Smith too. And he got the transfer from Ohio State who was really good. Forgot his name. It's rare you see a coach bring in 4* and 5* talent to a program like Dayton. He had them in the tourney ever year. I doubt anyone was questioning the types of players he was bringing in.
  8. i'm not letting them wear me out. I think it's just unfair to be so critical right off the bat. You need to take a look at the product first and then the coach. Some people have it the other way around.
  9. I think it's getting rather old regarding the underwhelmed folks saying told you so. I noticed this happens a lot during games that we are losing. It's freaking year 1. I'm sorry but it doesn't matter who is coaching this team. Coach K, Self, Izzo...doesn't matter. They would struggle. There are no shooters, no PG, one consistent scorer, no good bigs...it's a mess that Archie inherited. Let's compare Archie to Holtman, Will Wade and the other new hires in year 3 once these guys have a chance to bring in their guys. Until then, it's unfair.
  10. This roster is disgusting. Just no basketball skills at all.
  11. McSwain has missed like three layups at least already. Just sad.
  12. This is really hard to watch. It sucks only having three guys worth a damn - Morgan, Johnson, McRoberts
  13. Agreed. No one's fault it just didn't pan out. It's just painful to think about since the position has become such a black hole for us coupled with the fact that the freshman really aren't providing much except for Smith from time to time. Many expected at least one of Green, Cujo, Newkirk to take a leap this year and well that just hasn't happened.
  14. Would have fit right in ranking wise with Crean's last two classes. Lots of 3 star guys. Green, Gelon, Durham, Moore. We are used to getting these with Crean why would he have been any different where people meltdown. No one thought he was going to start off this strong (given the ranking) except maybe Archie did since he actually nabbed him once.
  15. Man I don't want to beat a dead horse but if you sub in Mckinnley Wright for Newkirk/Green this team probably has another 2-3 wins at least. Green/Newkirk just aren't bringing anything to table. The position is basically dead weight more games than not. Just a killer.
  16. I'm surprised Moore didn't get a chance. It really makes me think CAM doesn't really have plans for him in the future. This is a game I just don't see how it would have hurt to at least try him. Haas was eating us alive regardless.
  17. Or those teams are just really good and will be #1 seeds in the tourney.
  18. I agree. People's expectations are really out of whack when you think about the roster Archie has to manage. I will say though that part of that potential 9-9 record is the fact that the BIG is just really down this year outside of Purdue and Mich St.
  19. Thought it would be fun to look at some statistics from the Tom Crean transfers that are still playing this year. Let me know if i missed anyone Emmit Holt - out for season with abdominal surgery Stanford Robinson - 28mpg - 10ppg - 6rpg - 2apg - 2.5spg - shooting 48% from the field. Devan Davis - 26mpg - 11ppg - 6rpg - 1.5apg - shooting 49% from the field Max Hoetzel (now goes by Max Montana) - 16mpg - 8ppg - 2.5rpg - his best game came yesterday in which he poured in 20 points against Colorado state. Peter Jurkin - 19mpg - 8ppg - 5rpg - shooting 59% from the field Curtis Jones - sitting out this year Grant Gelon - sitting out this year
  20. Most of the responses were actually really positive from our fans. I was impressed.
  21. Um that wasn't the only mistake by Green. He played awful throughout. Made some head scratching mistakes and took some really bad shots.
  22. He had Morgan for a layup regardless and just made a head scratching pass that a 4th grader could have made.
  23. Why the one handed wrister by Green. It's unreal how low this dudes IQ is.
  24. Seriousy F Green. Don't let him come back on the plane. That was a pass at the ankles.
