  1. Is it me or is Texas incredibly disappointing. Lost at home to Tech. Shaka seems like he is better suited at a mid major school. Texas now 10-6 on year.
  2. Chiefs fan here. Should be a fun one today. I really think Andy Reid is due for a win but the Colts come in red hot. Snow still coming down but it should turn to flurries here and be pretty light throughout game.
  3. KState and Ole Miss with huge road wins. Kermit Davis and his team definitely the biggest overachievers so far this season imo. They were picked to finish last in SEC and are now 13-2
  4. He, Rob and De'Ron all practiced in some capacity this week, however, Archie made it sound like Jack and Rob were on the side of doubtful and that De'Ron was more questionable but would try to suit up.
  5. Regarding the second sentence that was basically every player that was recruited and played for Kelvin Sampson imo
  6. I mentioned this the other day. He was run out at LSU and basically a new staff was assembled at Maryland with the new hire. He is an IU guy so on one hand you can point to this and on the other you can point to the fact that maybe he would have come home for a good while. Can't imagine anyone likes switching gigs every year.
  7. Is it common for an OC to clean house when coming to a new job in college? I've been around programs where a coordinator was brought in and don't remember that entire side of the ball ever having more than one or two guys leave. I mean this basically happens at Bama with the OC every year and I'm pretty sure Saban doesn't go out and get new WR, RB, QB coaches each time too. Hard to understand where the divide was here exactly. I hope the hire doesn't end up being internal.
  8. There is no such thing as a few days or a one week recovery on this team.
  9. Don't forget guzzling diet coke non-stop
  10. Just curious, what is your preferred realistic hire then? I would love to see someone like Major Applewhite come in but that's just not happening. Even if it did, that type of OC would only be here for a year. At least with Canada, you have a guy that brings a wealth of OC experience and has certainly improved a lot since his time at IU. He did really well at Pittsburgh in 2016, which got him the LSU job. He was a scapegoat at LSU but not the problem. I watched some of his Maryland games and thought their offense was pretty good even with losing QB's left and right. The bonus is he's an IU guy so will hopefully view this as a longer term gig if we can have success as a program. It's fine if you are skeptical but I just don't see many alternatives externally that would be as good as Canada unless you want to sniff around for an OC at mid major or a QB coach maybe at a P5 without any OC experience.
  11. I do find it kind of interesting that Matt Canada has been at 6 stops and different schools in the last 9 years since leaving IU. That's a lot!
  12. I've seen plenty of examples where coaches have a rough start initially and then turn into very good coordinators with the right coaches around them/just getting experience. Look at Canada the last few years not what he was a decade ago.
  13. Totally get that, however, it seems like recruiting is actually doing pretty well at the moment. What will take down recruiting eventually for CTA is if this team doesn't start winning football games, beat purdue now and again, and get to a bowl game. Therefore, you get the best OC available and one that hopefully has some experience. I just don't think Allen can afford to gamble on this one because if it turns out bad he will likely be on his way out. It sounds like momentum is gaining for Canada. He did a really good job at Maryland especially taking over after Durkin got put on admin leave. There is definitely more hope for IU Football then there has been in a long, long time if this rings true.
  14. I agree with this take Moore still looks incredibly clumsy to me. I don't like either option. Rather see Forrester again if he can get healthy.
  15. Morgan is completely out of it right now
  16. Despite having the #23 recruiting class according to 247 sports, the 2016 class has been rather disappointing. Gelon - never should have had a schollie. Typical Crean. Davis - Unfortunate with the injury but has never been in the type of game shape to stay on the floor long enough to really contribute CuJo - Really only remember his first game against KU other than that was hardly memorable Green - Still way too inconsistent. Good Devonte one day and then bad Devonte the next McSwain - Improved a lot his senior year and really contributed but was pretty much a non-factor his junior year
  17. Skilled players want to play for Purdue. They did a great job of showcasing Rondale Moore this year. We did no such thing with our talent the last two years with guys like Simmie Cobbs, Ian Thomas, Nick Westbrook, Donovan Hale, Reese Taylor. This is why this OC hire is so crucial. Have to get a good offensive mind in here because Allen cannot help in that regard.
  18. My way of measuring this is to see when he slows down his posts on Twitter.
  19. Anyone know why we aren't designing any plays for Fizner? Dude can shoot and that is a rarity on this team. Seems like Archie and Co. have completely phased him out for the most part. Also, Juwan should be touching the ball most times down the court. The offense works so much better when it goes through him.
  20. Green had about 4 easy shots there. Goodness.
  21. If we start the way we have been starting, the game at Michigan will be over early on Sunday.
  22. The NFL is certainly an extreme example. But even when I did some research for the NBA, most guys are returning within/around 2 weeks. I would think that alligns more closely since most of those guys probably have had minimal concussions before and are not pushing to go the following weeks game.
  23. Steve Sarkisian is back on the market after being fired by the Falcons.
  24. His perfect fit was New Mexico. Should have stayed there.
  25. I would throw in Bobby Hurley as well. I think he can be had since ASU is not a destination job and he has really elevated that program since he has been there. Hoiberg seems doable but he seems like a Midwest guy to me. Musselman makes sense too but I wonder if he ends back up in the NBA.
