While it would be hilarious in regards to Purdue, they aren't worth having those kinds of problems on the team. In fact, yeah guy, maybe reconsider Purdue.

People who aren't fans of the hire. Usually casuals who heard enough of the rumors to get themselves expecting an outcome with the lowest probabilities but don't grasp the landscape well enough to see the whole picture.

People act like Indiana chose to hire DeVries over Stevens, Pearl, etc. They didn't want Indiana. Even McCollum hesitated. I know the narrative is Scott pinning DeVries down early, but nobody wants to accept that he was putting non tier-one plans together early because the odds of big fish were always low. I guarantee he didn't not try to make the splash hire; the line was cast but the big ones didn't bite. Looking at the Calipari example too, yes UK was able to hire the hot name in coaching that year. But Memphis basketball was a flash in the pan and Kentucky was still blue blood. 3 seasons at Memphis was more than enough and it was a no-brainer for Cal to take a huge step up to his biggest job opportunity yet. The guys we wanted? One is the President of a 6 billion dollar franchise. The other has sustained a football school's basketball program at the top tier of the college game for the better part of a decade, and we passed him over last year. That's the one that angers me. But the programs where your big names currently reside? Indiana is in large part a lateral move with no success in eons. I think Dolson got the best coach realistically available and willing.

Great recognition on the inbounds play to step in toward the basket rather than just stand there and watch after passing it in. That was awesome.
