I literally said waiting too long is part of what got us here. Moving too fast can also keep us here. Contrary to popular misbelief, two things can be true at the same time. Is it wild to believe good coaches who have sense enough to understand wouldn't want to come here if we're chopping heads in year one?

Lol. I think you know I didn't make those decisions. I never said they should've been made. I EVEN said earlier waiting too long got us here, if you weren't too busy furiously looking for someone in here to blame instead of reading. Go talk to the leaders of the nepotism department on those decisions. The point I am making, and it's not just me, is that you can over-correct and move too fast when throwing a massive hissy fit about your situation. Do you want to dig out of the hole, or start over in a deeper one next season? Fire after year one and you might as well add a bigger shovel, heck a backhoe, to the list of growing expenditures.

What all the knee-jerking fans need to realize is not all the weak-kneed fans actually have weak knees. They just use more of their brains. Face it: Indiana ain't it. Add to it that, and yes it sounds like a cop out, I have no doubt believing Mike Woodson left him an uphill climb when recruiting the portal. He and his staff bottomed out the perception of the culture of IU basketball and I wouldn't put it past the old coot to spread misinformation on his way out. We are in a crap situation but can also do our part in making it even worse.

We're his last lifeline to staying relevant by way of being a sniveling, wounded SEC groupie (and failed member of Hair Club for Men).

And what happens when he looks at the guillotine that is the IU head cosching job while he's just begun building something at St. Louis after 2 years and says, "Gross. I'm good where I'm at, thanks." ?? 20+ wins and a tournament bid in year one of stepping into a program that was skin and bones for the guy that just got fired in one season, that will be even more barren (if that's possible) for the next guy....it's borderline unreasonable and poor management. I know we're spoiled by a freak turnaround on the football field and the basketball community is sick of waiting for the last 3 decades, but things take time and people are acting like that's a choice. This is not me saying give him umpteen years, because that's also a reason why we're here. But at least give a minimum of more than a year.

Because who are you going to replace him with that's immediately available, that's GOOD and immediately available, and that's good, immediately available, and not going to use the majority of available coin in doing so? That's a narrow mark to hit.

Woody was lucky enough to walk into an athletic roster with an All-American. To his credit, he did get TJD to stay and do most of the work for him lol. Imagining Woodson with the current roster is borderline unimaginable.

I still strongly subscribe to the prediction that Beck was going to throw a game-ending INT against Ole Miss if the ball left his hands because he looked every bit like he was going to force something. Luckily for him he decided to pull it down and run.
