  1. Ok, I think Drewfus needs to be the official moniker. That's hilarious!
  2. Most of us are watching basketball. Most of us aren't just waiting for the ball to go through the hoop in order to evaluate the level of someone's play.
  3. Yeah, I was never all that impressed with him in Denver from a coaching standpoint. However, I didn't know the extent of his personality flaws until I heard Doyel speak on his time in Denver and some of the accounts he's heard. I definitely don't want that here. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised though; some level of douchebaggery is pretty much required to work where he's been working. The biggest thing is the point Doyel made about his coordinators. He hires them, (they've signed I believe), they start to relocate their families, and then he doesn't even tell them he's bailing. The report was that they found out via Twitter. Incredible. 5. I haven't looked for a link yet, and I know there are some Gregg Doyel pundits here, but I was listening to Freddie and Fitz on ESPN radio during my drive home early this morning and he was blasting McDaniels relentlessly. I've never heard a member of the media so blatant, but I'm glad he was. McDaniels is a turd. I'm indifferent to Doyel so I found it pretty entertaining. It'll be on their podcast if I can't find a link to it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  7. They'd probably all poop their pants if they knew Romeo and Rob talk to each other weekly. If there is more communication with Garland I'm willing to bet Romeo isn't starting the majority of those conversations. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. I don't know if they've officially confirmed it, but Tim Langford alluded to an announcement at McDonald's All American Game in a recent article. 3/28 I believe. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. I also agree. This is not a knock on Devonte, but I think that will create a healthier competition within the backcourt from a mental standpoint. Mentally I think Rob can handle the backseat and would be driven to improve his game more so than Devonte, who has seemed to get discouraged easily. However, these last three games he's decided to adjust his focus in a way that makes his game (and the team) better, and I think we're seeing some maturation there. Some people just respond differently to the backup role. Hopefully whoever starts/sits will embrace the roles and fulfill them to their greatest potential! 10. Saying this every year honestly doesn't bother me. As a die hard Cubs fan, you learn a thing or two about patience. It's not easy, that's for sure. But things are looking up. CAM is already infusing a culture and a system into this program they haven't seen in nearly 2 decades, and it's a culture and a system that has shown success in college basketball. Building a monster takes time, but boyyyy when the monster finally gets to eat.... There's nothing sweeter. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  12. Thank you. I feel he's one most people are quick to dismiss in regards to the future of this team. He can be a big piece. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  16. Green is the only one who can even begin to penetrate off the dribble, and he's showing more restraint than usual tonight. Newkirk is the senior who can't do a thing. Green v Newkirk? Green all day. The offense is better with him in. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  18. Can IU somehow just graduate Newkirk tomorrow? I'm not big on blatantly calling out individuals, but....dang. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  21. Nice to see Vic take it at Michael Carter Williams a few times. And dating back to his UConn days, every time Kemba Walker is on the opposition he's a complete thorn in my side. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  25. In all this I think we have to keep in mind the perspective of these 15-18 year old kids. Myself included, we tend to evaluate the program and predict the future from more realistic and mature (usually) viewpoints. A lot of kids don't have foresight, nor do they have the adults around them to help them fully evaluate the many opportunities in front of them. Kids in general take the path of least resistance, the one mostly likely to bring instant gratification. Right now Archie's sample size is too small and he's had to provide it with a semi bunk roster while unteaching bad habits and teaching a new system. Tom Crean, as mentioned above, is the only real-time image of Indiana basketball these kids have really experienced until now. I believe Archie will be better and more successful than Crean, but I think the image change will be gradual as will the curb appeal of Hoosier basketball to higher level recruits. A big breakout year for IU would definitely speed all of that up. Guys like Trayce, Romeo, et al would obviously be incredible assets for the cause. But until we have a consistently high level of play the competition for in state recruits will be fierce. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
