(2027) DL Jalen Brewster (5*) to TTU
Lebowski replied to Pagoda's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Absolutely. I don't even want to think about Haines leaving either. -

Thanks for the insight. I wasn't aware of this little nugget of information. -
I tend to agree because Saban was talking about physical football. It basically told me that he hasn't been paying attention to 2025 IUFB. Both might be thinking it's the same type of team from last year. Or they're just haters. Regardless, if IUFB wins they'll be forced to pay attention because our schedule isn't a picnic.

Altmyer's last year stats highlight a stark contrast between his performance when the pocket is clean versus when he's under duress. While he excels with clean pockets, his numbers take a notable dip when pressured. So the big question marks for all of us are did he work on this during the off season and will our D show up.

The run game this year is all because of the upgrades on the front 5 during the off season. Not having Beebe might be a big factor. The run game is key to get a complete blowout. If the run game isn't working then IUFB is in a dog fight. Which might be the case, Illinois' D is 14th in the country with 74.7 rushing YDS/G. IUFB's O is 3rd in the country with 307.7 YDS/G. If the run game is same ole same ole the game won't even be close because play action will get us points, quick. But overall, the IUFB D will win or lose this game. They can't have missed assignments like they did against ODU. Worth the listen. You'll come out of it a little more confident about our chances. Things to note since this podcast was released. Illinois' defense is probably a little better than discussed.

Beebe Jr out for season with knee injury
Lebowski replied to FortWayneHoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
This is actually a really big loss. Beebe provided a different style needed for the type of RB by committee we run. I'm not sure there's a similar RB in the room. -
Here's a link to an aggregate of several ranking systems, including ESPN FPI, Sagarin, Coaches Poll, AP Poll, and Massey. IUFB currently sits at 14 with a ranking as high as 3 and low as 43.

This is a valid question. Next week? Probably. Through the next 30 days? Unknown. A broader question to anyone here, does IUFB have any wiggle room (enough scholarships etc. etc.) to bring in any transfers? I don't even know how all this works.

All of UCLA and Va Tech's players have a 30 day window to transfer. And with only 3 games played redshirt is still on the table to those that are eligible. The IU staff has a decent pipeline in Virginia and probably recruited a lot of Va Tech's current roster. Keep an eye on this.
