  1. I think that rule got thrown out this year.
  2. At the end of the day IU will be fine and they have guys that battle.
  3. Hire an IU guy. That's the one thing that IU hasn't tried. If you can't go big then try something different.
  4. He's improved every year so he's got that going for him.
  5. The list really starts at #2
  6. My list of semi realistic candidates but I really don't want to go past #6 but I can make cases for the others. 1. Stevens 2. Beard 3. Mack 4. Drew 5. Matta 6. Beilein 7. Musselman 8. Moser 9. Alford 10. Fife 11. Cheaney 12. Lewis
  7. It does but it makes you wonder if he would do what Roy did when he left KU for UNC. I could see Wes Miller leaving IU to take UNC too.
  8. That's what we all need. Miller time part 2 to lead IU. Yes I know he's a good coach but I really think he's waiting on Ol' Roy to retire.
  9. UNC: Wes Miller will likely be the guy. Duke: a coach K picked Duke guy. I think Beard is staying in Texas until his kids are older unless he gets blown away. Everyone has a $ amount they can't refuse.
  10. DD has said on his show many times that the IU staff did a disservice to Lander by convincing him to reclassify and then not play him in a consistent role throughout the season. Seth Greenburgh said the same thing when he came on the show so I'd love to know what exactly Archie and company sold him on.
  11. If Archie took out a his frustration on a kids parent out on the athlete that's a problem. If Lander feels the same way as his mom then that could've been it. That said I've seen many times when parents and kids aren't on the same page with these types of situations so who knows. My guess is Archie just wanted to shorten the rotation in the tournament.
  12. If that took place I would say that it came from whatever promises Archie made while he was recruiting Lander in order to get him to leave high school and enroll early. That's not good at all if it's true. Plus like DD says all the time families really need to get out of players ways and let the athletes deal with whatever the problem is.
  13. He got a chance and has been terrible. Had he been showing some kind of improvement things would be different but he hasn’t and he doesn’t have a Cody Zeller and Yogi Ferrell walking through the door to save him either.
  14. Wonder if he’ll be the only one or if there will be others the give that treatment to.
  15. Well that was fun. Nothing like ending the season with going 9 minutes and 50 seconds without a made basket.
  16. It came from Chris007 who posted on here that Mack had reached out to IU with interest in the job. Nobody knows why unless he wants a pay raise, wants out because he doesn’t want to deal with the NCAA sanctions, or he has other issues he doesn’t like about Louisville.
  17. The most recent pro to college coach situation that would be when Stephanie White took the Vanderbilt women's job while finishing out the season coaching the fever. She hired Carolyn Peck as an assistant right away and she helped run things at Vanderbilt until the WNBA season ended. I would think that Brad could do something similar if he wanted.
  18. Oh I know they aren't going in blind. They've probably got an idea of candidates that they know are interested. I'm just saying that they probably haven't gotten anything lined up yet with a single candidate. Unless it's the guy in Boston. He's the exception to everything.
  19. It is false. the reason so many schools choose to hire search firms. It's not so that they can search for the coach. It's so they can negotiate legally. If IU hasn't hired a search firm which they likely won't until Archie has been dismissed or it's announced they are parting ways.
  20. False. Very few cases does a school have someone lined up. They could be in talks but nothing will be finalized. Especially if their targets are still coaching in conference tournaments or the NCAA tournament. If they are hiring someone in the NBA or not coaching that makes things easier in the sense that those guys would be more likely to openly negotiate.
  21. I'd guess he's still working on it unless their is something surprising going on behind the scenes.
  22. I don’t think that smoke is coming from the Vatican. I think it’s coming from this dumpster fire that’s going on at 1001 E 17th St, Bloomington, IN 47408.
  23. The difference between Archie and Mack is that Mack’s a better coach with a track record in the big east and acc. Not have similar styles but Mack has more success. All of these coaches share similar styles. Thad Matta, Brad Stevens, Sean Miller, Chris Mack, Archie Miller, Travis Steele and Lavall Jordan. Everyone of them coached under Matta except Mack and he coached under Sean Miller. They are all similar some are just better at getting results.
  24. For the guys that think IU needs to pay a great amount of money for the next coach maybe they will. But there will be coaches with resumes who will be interested that won’t require a big contract to start with. I would encourage everyone to listen to the Hoosier hysterics podcast with Brian Evans. Brian talks about when Cal wanted the job and it shows just how incompetent the IU administration was when Sampson and Crean got hired and also how some coaches view certain jobs. I would also say you could skip ahead to the part about Cal because it was a long podcast.
  25. Here are some highlights from the Westfield and Zionsville sectional game.
