  1. My man just wanted some Fourth Meal™.
  2. Um no. We’re being dramatic. To be honest I was a little creeped out with how utterly reasonable the McNeeley recruitment was. Let’s fire up the histrionics.
  3. You’re a good man, Chris!! …but if I catch you sneaking in a Cuban I won’t be mad.
  4. Regardless of what happens let’s get away from personal attacks. This board always tries to stay above that, and it is what makes this place the best forum for so many of us. Sandwich talk in lieu of negativity is still highly encouraged*. *not necessarily a board policy but definitely a Stromboli policy
  5. Love a good Cuban! Chef, a movie written, directed, produced, and starring Jon Favreau features the Cuban. Great flick so long as you have a healthy suspension of disbelief and can get over the fact that Favreau cast Sophia Vergara AND Scarlet Johansson as his romantic partners, while he plays an unemployed chef.
  6. Oh yeah events like these are the time to get little ones to SSAH. Pro-tip, Mini-Hov will need to poop the second you get to your seats. I’m astounded by the reliability of this. I’m all for turning this event over to the students, recruits, and team. It’s so difficult to keep interest and enthusiasm high for these. But I’m with Stu, the scrimmage is exactly what we want to see. And yeah dunk contests are for the 90s.
  7. I’m growing a vacation mustache and someone told me I look like Freddie Mercury. Of Queen.
  8. Sounds like a great trip!! Enjoy!
  9. Have yourself a round, bro! Golf has found its way back into my life in a big way. I’m no better, mind you. But I am committed to buying new clubs until I am.
  10. A flippin reunion!!
  11. Bone and Joint? Is that like a cooler Netflix and Chill or something different? edit: Mods if this is inappropriate then maybe loosen up man
  12. You guys. I think Jakai might redshirt
  13. I don’t disagree. I think he’ll be a steadying force all season.
  14. Of the bench guys CJ has an ocean of opportunity in front of him. I like the Scoop reference because I want CJ to do the opposite of what Scoop did; get playing time and immediately forget every practice and game plan and just try to be a star. If CJ plays a patient, hard working role and then hits the shots that come to him within the game plan, then he could be a huge part of this team, and eventually earn a little more freedom out there. Ideally hitting more than he did last year… But now I’m shuddering thinking of Geronimo out there, another “potential” guy. The whole team had to make up for his defensive miscues.
  15. That was my thought too! Dude has length like crazy, balance and coordination. Real easy to see the ranking. Nuts that we have his talent and we aren’t even relying on him to be a star.
  16. Needs about 4 extra steps to get the puppies organized
  17. Oh whateverrrrr. It’s a change for sure. I do love the west coast. If I cared more about CFB I’d likely have a different reaction. The B1G is a little boring so an infusion of new teams and playing styles can be good. It’s a pro-league at this point anyway so the coast to coast thing isn’t a big deal. Schedules for BB should be more balanced, and winning the conference will be even more impressive. Why does it feel like at NCAA offices they’re still spending more time arguing over executive parking spots and vending machine choices than addressing their loss of control.
  18. Ope! Missed this little nugget
  19. The more I think about it the more I like Galloway starting at the 2. He’s very efficient when he does shoot, he just doesn’t look for his own shot much. And then he does everything else well. Isn’t that somewhat ideal? We have plenty of guys who will be hunting their own shots. Usage will never be even, and isn’t really intended to be. If Trey keeps hitting over 40% when he does take a 3, and drives when the right opportunity is there, his skill set is about ideal, no?
  20. Im with Stuhoo on this. Real tough to play the academic superiority card, but then be so disorganized that you consistently trip over this stuff. Big, nationally embarrassing headlines time after time. Feels like some quick emails to the right departments would have given a clear green or red and avoided it. Also… I’m happy with my IU degree and all, but have no problem admitting that IU is a step or 3 below Michigan. UM simply is a prestigious academic institution. I don’t think it’s any kind of knock if IU can admit someone that UM doesn’t. As others have mentioned Live was in good academic standing at UNC, there are no red flags here. Do I want Love on the team? UNC fans were happy to see him go. We’re already dealing with a lot of ins, a lot of ours, a lot of what have yous. So what’s one more?! Heck yes get him here if Woody wants him. Also have a super soft birthday, guys! Pitter patter!
  21. Jess Settles loves him some IU! Every time he calls a game you know he’ll pay reverence to IU I really don’t like records broken because of the covid loophole though.
  22. I’m sure they’d still prefer they went in… I love TJD. I really hope he gets drafted into a good situation and shows out. He’s got a real flair to his game, emphatic jams and blocks, lightning quick and powerful moves to the hoop. It will be cool to see him show new fans what he can do
  23. I don’t recall Purdue being a problem since Woodson got here, anyway… All of basketball wants more well-rounded ballers. Every guy should be able to pass, shoot, defend, and scrap. There’s a reason we’re seeing 4-out and even 5-out offenses. Spacing, creating high-percentage looks out points on the board. Without Trayce, we will look different. He was truly sensational. I love having a talent like MM coming in, but I don’t think I’m alone in wishing we had a couple rangey perimeter weapons on the roster. That said, X was a sneaky good 3pt shooter. Galloway, actually elite. Maybe Cupps or Banks or Gunn will be that too?
