AJ Guyton at Northwestern
American HoosierX replied to ALASKA HOOSIER's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Super awesome! Love Guyton...all-time favorite. I rarely comment on anything on Instagram but I told him congrats and he responded saying thanks. Good dude and very happy for him. -

I have zero issue with that at that point in the game. The only way you could lose at that point is by turning the ball over. -

Lagow hasn't looked good, but why did we just start throwing to the middle of the field on that last drive? The play calling to start the game was awful. -

I was just about to say the same thing. I've honestly never seen that -

Kirkwood is great for basketball games but it's a Nebraska football bar. Joe's is probably the best bet for football. If IU had a consistently good football program that people cared about there would be a lot more IU bars! -

State of Recruiting/Do Rankings Matter?
American HoosierX replied to MartintheMopMan's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He is the king of reframing arguments into ones the other person is not even making. There really is no point in engaging with him. There shouldn't be an argument here based on what you provided. Statistical evidence proves there is a correlation between the rankings and future success. Nothing more, nothing less. -
(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati
American HoosierX replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
With you 100% here. He is certainly the type that creates reality in his own mind. Any type of forecasting is never going to be entirely accurate. But I have a very strong suspicion that if you ran a regression of rankings against points averaged in college, the R squared would be very high. -
2017-18 Season Expectations

I can assure you that years of bad habits are not going to be undone overnight. -
Chris Holtmann named Ohio State Head Coach
American HoosierX replied to FortWayneHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
At some point, a few people on here were hot to trot for Ronald Nored to be the coach at IU. As a Butler alum, seems like he would be worth a look. -
(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky
American HoosierX replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I'm not saying he wouldn't take his commitment. But it takes a lot of time and effort to land these kids, and you'd think he would choose to spend it elsewhere. -

Interesting that Arizona is on that list. I would think Sean Miller would shy away from recruits in Indiana out of respect for his brother. -
Is this weird to anyone else?
American HoosierX replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
First of all it's Instagram and not Twitter although I'm not sure that's an important distinction. Also I don't recall ever seeing Luke Recker's birthday being called out on there. Hmmmm... I for one think that it's weird. -
Ghost over his head is such an absurd and quite frankly extemely lazy argument. I'm 30 and am still too young to remember the good Knight years. I promise most of my friends were also extremely ready for him to go. First of all, we never came close to winning a title under Crean in 9 years. Most years come March, we knew we had no shot, usually because we weren't even in the tournament. He was also a living, walking meme and his wacky personality as well as his coaching flaws were not well perceived nationally. Why are all the other teams in the big ten sad to see him go? And if he is such a good coach, then why the hell doesn't he have a job right now?

Archie was an assistant to Sean who was the head coach of that U19 team. Calipari took over earlier in the year so I'm not sure he will still be an assistant coach.

Uhhh hyperbole much? If we really got him for 3 MM, in my mind that is a major bargain. He very likely could have made 3 MM or more going somewhere else. Illinois is paying Brad Underwood over 3 MM. Are we supposed to pay him less than what he made at Datyon?
