  1. Already won one? No. One that understands you can't play just one style? Yes. There are a few out there. It is something that only great coaches can do.
  2. Sure it might look better. But you're going to get as close to a Nat'l Title under Bennett as you will with Crean.
  3. They do play Auburn next Saturday in Tuscaloosa. Better call up Musberger.
  4. 40 years ago that's win your a Nat'l title maybe.
  5. Bo Ryan actually sped it up a bit and went away from the swing offense. But he was able to do so because he had the talent to beat the other teams. Virginia may play "fast" at times but hardly. They're one of the slowest teams in country. This year they're averaging 71 points a game which is 207th in the nation. They're also averaging 62.9 possessions a game. That is dead last in the NCAA.
  6. Until you realize that at some point you do have to score. And the less attempts you have then the smaller room for error you have. You can't play Crean style but you can't play Bo Ryan style. You have to find a median. Play fast when needed and play slow when needed. And be successful at both. Knight was successful like that. Brad Stevens the same way. Greg Popovich has been successful that way. We can't hire a coach that is 100% only going to play one way no matter what. That is how we've gotten into the mess we're in now.
  7. I'd be ok with Virginia if he'd speed it up. Coaches who only want to play one style will never be consistent title contenders. They may be able to compete for conference but not national titles. We saw that with Wisconsin. Indiana shouldn't strive to be Wisconsin.
  8. So far College Gameday has included these teams. Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Texas A&M. That'll only be 8 different teams in 5 games. When they have the potential to have 20. Which I personally think they should. They should go to all kinds of different places. Instead they only go to a few spots and stick with them. It is incredibly predictable and an absolute joke. They screwed us in football too.
  9. That is the only thing I can think of. I don't know how you could pass up Indiana vs Purdue in Bloomington. It is a joke.
  10. None of that means anything to how good these players are. Simmons is a one of a kind player. Everyone wants that #1 pick. But to be able to Brandon Ingram would be amazing for them as well. That's a building block. A SF they don't have. The Celtics are on an upswing in the big picture. Indiana isn't moving.
  11. They have the Brooklyn Nets pick. It is unprotected. Right now the Nets are the 4th worst team in the league.
  12. Yes it is still downgrading. The Boston Celtics are one of the top jobs you can have if you're successful. Indiana can't even touch it. Really no college job can except maybe Kentucky, Kansas or North Carolina. It is the same with the Lakers if they're good. If Boston was struggling then I'd understand Stevens entertaining a chance to leave... but that just isn't the case here. Boston is looking to deal right now and looking to get the #1 pick in the draft while making a push for the 2 seed in the NBA playoffs.
  13. I don't think Stevens would be interested. He has zero reason to come back. Right now the Celtics are 3rd in the East at 32-23. They're looking to make a big move by Thursday. They have the Brooklyn Nets pick in the draft which is looking like a Top 5 pick. So they could get Ben Simmons, Brandon Ingram or Buddy Hield. The Celtics are on the rise thanks to Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens. There really is no reason to return to CBB for him. If he was failing as an NBA coach maybe but he isn't. You don't downgrade when you're successful like he is. He's in Boston to win and not to see what the experience is like. He's in the NBA for life.
  14. I think you greatly underestimate what an NBA coach has to do.
  15. Do you think LSU would trade us Ben Simmons? Duke with Brandon Ingram? Oklahoma with Buddy Hield?
  16. Well he definitely isn't Andrew Wiggins.
  17. I'd really like for Indiana to turn over every stone possible. College coaches, nba coaches and of course.. meB)
  18. Personally I don't want him. And no one knows what WSU will be like after this year. They lose Van Vleet and Baker. Their window could be over. I'd rather go for a younger coach that can hit v the ground running on the recruiting trail.
  19. I've thought the same thing! Think Kevin Wilson could do anything with him out there? I don't think he'd be Cody Latimer but his size would be great at WR. 6-7 215. That would be awesome.
  20. Xavier has been one of the most consistent Mid Major schools in the country. And with very good coaches. Like Mack but also Sean Miller and Thad Matta. Since 2000 Xavier has only missed the tourney 3 times. They've been to 6 Sweet 16's and 2 Elite 8's. This year they have a good chance of going to the schools forest ever Final 4.
  21. I love All-Star weekend. The NBA is in good shape for the next several years.
  22. That last part is the problem. We aren't the marquee program anymore. Michigan State, Ohio State and Michigan are all ahead of us brand wise.
  23. The 13-14 year did it for me. Couldn't adjust to the team he built. If you want shooters all over the court... Why get Troy and Stan? That year I was done. And I was a Crean supporter going into that year. I was pumped. That was easily a tourney team with high potential. And it fell flat on its face.
  24. He fits the 76ers game plan perfectly.
