  1. Watford was one of my favorite players. Not just because of the shot to beat UK... dude was money from the wing.
  2. That may be an awkward situation... Troy needs about 10 more years in college to learn not to force things and maybe get a jumpshot... but mama might say college is the debil and he is good enough to go pro. And mama is always right.
  3. Well it does help to have a coach. Even with what people think of Crean.. he's a heck of a lot better than what UNLV has had coaching wise this year. Rice has had a crap ton of talent and did little with it. Except beat us. But I think Crean is still a better coach. Maui was just a joke.
  4. No. Wasn't the point of that post.
  5. I don't think Hartman is truly needed on the floor. He almost cancels himself out at times. He doesn't score much. He'll spot when open. He hustles as much as his athleticism will allow him. He turns the ball over quite often for not really handling the ball. He's not a good defender but that deals more with his athleticism. He knows what to do on defense.. but he doesn't have the athleticism or length to do it exact. It'd be nice if we could join Hartman and Williams together... that'd really help.
  6. You can win a lot in CBB just off talent alone. But we'll have a crunch with guards. RJ, JBJ, Jones are all SG's that can play the 2-3 spot. Jones isn't going to play PG. Obviously JBJ wont because he won't pass. RJ is a turnover machine. So start RJ or JBJ? Can't start both. We've seen how bad that is. For Hartman.. we'll have DD, OG, Morgan and possibly Williams all fighting for the 3 or 4 spot...
  7. They aren't traditional. But why would we start Hartman over Davis? Hartman isn't talented enough to go ahead and sharpie his name into the lineup. Honestly when it comes to next year... Bryant and Williams are the only two.. if they come back.
  8. If Crean is still around... it'd be interesting to see if he can actually adjust to a roster for once.
  9. Just some good 4's out there.
  10. And teams are playing Ben Simmons, Brandon Ingram, Jalen Brown, Caleb Swanigan, Deyonta Davis, Robert Carter, Perry Ellis... and so on.
  11. I'd check around on some rosters if I were you before saying that. There are teams with very good 4's where Hartman would be coming off the bench. There is nothing wrong with coming off the bench. And the turnovers thing isn't true. He actually has a to% of about 20%.
  12. if Bryant doesn't come back then start Hartman. If not then start the big guys. DD isn't coming to Indiana to play behind anyone. Especially Collin Hartman. I doubt Crean got him to Indiana by saying he'll be coming off the bench. Davis was our "big get" in recruiting. Do you really think Collin Hartman will keep him from starting? It'd be a different story if it were a more talented 4 like Christian Watford IMO.
  13. That can be brought off the bench. We don't have to start him just because he's a senior.
  14. There really is no reason for Hartman to start. Not from a strategy or talent look at it.
  15. Nothing wrong with attacking smaller lineups with a bigger lineup. Don't have to follow the pack of everyone else. We could be one of just a few teams in the who start two actual bigs.
  16. Why wouldn't we start Davis? That'd make zero sense. We as fans have been wanting size. We might finally have it.. then want to start 6-6(on his tip toes) Hartman at the 4? I don't think Hartman is the person to care if he is starting or coming off the bench.
  17. OG, Davis and Bryant. If Bryant leaves OG, Hartman and Davis.
  18. RJ has become a streaky shooter. He's almost like JR Smith. If he is hitting.. he's hitting.. if not... then it ain't close. I think OG could be our best player. I don't know if he'll be Kawhi Leonard at SDSU.. simply because Leonard was REALLY good there. But has the tools to be our best player next year. I don't know if he can carry a team. He'd definitely have to develop a play style fit to be a #1 option. I think it is easy to say who will start in the 3, 4 and 5 spots. Are question marks are in the 1 and 2 spot.
  19. What do you mean Oladipo wasn't expected? As in "not expected to be as good as he was" or "leaving after that year." He should have went first in that draft. Which would have sent him to Cleveland. And he could be playing with LeBron now... or in Minnesota with Andrew Wiggins.
  20. Did he get in trouble or something? I don't remember anything being said... Or did he get "Creaned?"
  21. I don't know why he left. But he would have helped. That team was beyond misused. Was an absolute joke. And the year I was done with Crean.
  22. Well we don't have a PG. Just losing Yogi is more than anything we have can makeup. No one knows what Bryant will do. I'm guessing Troy is gone no matter what. That leaves us with JBJ, RJ, Newkirk, Jones, Green, Gelon at the guard spot. OG and Hartman at the 3. Then Morgan, Davis and possibly Bryant... that is a team that could probably finish somewhere in the 5-8 range in the B1G. We definitely won't be the favorite. That'll be MSU and with ease. Next year is a guess simply because our guard play. JBJ and RJ shouldn't be on the floor together. If they are it should be for limited spurts. And neither should be trusted as a PG.
  23. The excuse of that year was we didn't have any shooters... more like Crean couldn't adjust for that team.
  24. AJ Hammons is averaging 18 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5 blocks a game in his career against Indiana. Last year we were basically throwing it to him and seeing how far he could hit it. He doesn't kill us on the boards. His best rebounding game was 7 boards in 13-14. Last year he had 8 blocks at PU. He scored 30 in his freshman year at Purdue and had 20 last year in Bloomington. So for the game IMO will revolve around 2 people. AJ Hammons and Troy Williams. Both are quite the wildcards.
  25. 14-4, 7-11 then 9-9. They're 11-3 right now. But the seasons in between aren't acceptable. The 7-11 should have been 11-7. Last year was just as much of an embarrassment. Next year... if Crean is still around... just going to give him a pass? Because our guards won't be that good next year? Because we won't have depth down low? No depth at the 3? So we should just expect a good season or two and then 2 or 3 down years... that is what we're going to get with Crean. Can't build a consistency with his teams.
