they might be more of a 3 or 4 win team. But that doesn't really mean much. If they already had 5 or 6 wins then it'd be easier to see them as decent team. The year they made the tourney in 12-13 they were 8-10 in conference abs were a Top 10 team at one point in conference play. But at 0-13... it is a better 0-13 style wise than Rutgers.. but I'm surprised Rutgers still has a team with all the injuries and suspensions.

They are exactly what their record says. A bad team. You don't go 0-13 in conference and be thought of as a decent team. They are terrible.
-
So maybe a 10 win team? Lol. I mean.. they're just really bad. No matter how they're looked at.
-
abs to think... Minny is super terrible and have Little Rick an extension this year... as if anyone will be jumping to grab him.
-
I don't know if you can say they're better than their record when they've won 6 games all year.
-
We're they as bad as this year though? Those 4 teams ended up being 54-76 I believe. Right now the 4 bottom teams are 36-66 so far. Penn State at least won 2 games in conference. Minnesota could get that if they beat Rutgers twice or the other way around.

You're right. You'll see that I've said it before... you have to play both ways. -

And While Stevens was at Butler he actually sped up. 07-08: 62.5 possessions 08-09: 64.2 09-10: 65.3 10-11: 66.9 11-12: 66.5 12-13: 66.3 That is while the game around him was slowing way down. Tony Bennetts first 6 years at Virginia is a different story(this season is his 7th). 09-10: 65.5 10-11: 63.3 11-12: 62.5 12-13: 62.8 13-14: 62.5 14-15: 60.2 This year Virginia is averaging 62.8. Which is actually dead last in college basketball and 4 possessions a game behind our slow tempo friend Wisconsin. -

They average 9.5 turnovers and play 62.5 possessions a game. Oklahoma Playa 75 possessions a game and turns it over 12.7 times game. It is possible to take care of the ball at a faster pace. -

You can play a 75 possessions a game and play defense. You don't have to play 62 at possessions. -

Money isn't a problem when you're good at sports. You can have great sports and academics. You don't have to be Louisville. Look at Stanford, USC, Duke, Cal.. several Pac-12 schools actually. -
6 teams under .500 in conference. Not 4 under .500 overall and with two teams that haven't even won 10 games yet.

I don't think you realize just how slow Virginia. -
Well 4 tans in the Big Ten are under .500. 1 team is only 2 games above .500.... the B1G just isn't that good this year. A team like Michigan might get in because the bubble is 100 teams.

But seriously... that'd be like the biggest sports news of all time... if someone actually proved that the administration was guilty of "win shaving"... I don't think I could ever support IU again. Talk about the most epic thing to happen in college sports. A whole administration trying to keep sports mediocre so that no one will care about them. That'd be HUGE when you think about. Talk about some people getting fired... lol. What a crazy scenario to think about. -

No one plays a similar game as Virginia. Their offense is made for sloths. -

Doubtful with the Final Four. Not with the style he plays. Too constricted. -

It also sounds like a massive conspiracy theory. Maybe they pushed Miller out of the women's HC spot because they saw they'd be good eventually under him. Maybe they are doing this in hopes that football rises above it. CONSPIRACY. -

Personally I'd feel incredibly cheated if they were doing this whole mediocrity thing on purpose. -
Minnesota and Rutgers play twice this season. The worst teams in any power conference. Both are 0-13 in conference. Both have only won 6 games on the year. Worst games of the year?

So would I but don't cross your fingers on them actually getting hired. We had a chance to go after Brad Stevens a few years ago. We could have went after Shaka Smart who is looking to build Texas into a contender and has a good team down there. It is hard to say whether IU actually wants a good basketball program. Maybe they've forgot about all the profit that can be made from having great teams. -

We are now the definition of mediocrity instead of the definition of terrible. -

Coach K has multiple titles and can run a team how he feels. Pitino has 2 titles and plays off defensive pressure. His games are fast or slow. Williams has 2 titles and wins off pace and rebounding. They can run toy out of the gym in a heartbeat but they play it smart(unlike what we have now where it is just running with a blindfold on). Boeheim has 1 title. Built off the zone. And by a team ran by Carmelo Anthony. That Cuse team beat Roy Williams last Kansas team actually. The zone slows down the game on one end. And Boeheim plays very strictly to one way. But he's just a great coach and more of an exception. Coaches like Bo and Bennett play a style of "competing" and not a style of "winning." You won't see an exclusively slow it down and keep games under 65 possessions win a Nat'l title. You can pretty much mark Virginia down to the Sweet 16 on your brackets every year and it won't hurt you much. Is that what you want? Is the Sweet 16 a goal now? I'm sure a banner would be hung up if we made it this year.
