  1. He did get worked but in those limited minutes of getting burned I actually think he has more upside than Moore or Jake. He did not look like a flailing newborn colt, has stronger hands, had somewhat of an instinct as to where to go on offense and defense.
  2. That’s actually a little better than I would have guessed.
  3. We have 8 minutes of points in 1:15 !!!!! Nice to see DeRon start again. Hope he is back next year.
  4. Am I the only one tired of hearing how we are still in the tourney hunt after losing 11/12? Almost makes me cringe. That being said.....GO IU.
  5. Those are two separate issues. APR has to do with kids taking and getting decent grades in their classes. The NCAA, however, decided that the University of No Classes athletes must have the required minimum grade point averages but are exempt from actually taking real classes. I will puke if they win another championship this year.
  6. Team leadership can help solve issues. Unfortunately in this case Collin Hartman, on his podcasts with Steve Risley, has previously mentioned that Green has a very strong presence in the locker room (ie he would have to solve himself).
  7. Wow.. UNC and Duke are a combined 3-24 from the three at the half.
  8. Did the reason for the suspension ever come out?
  9. I wonder if Brooks mindset will be influenced if he thinks Green and Smith will be gone and the young guys he would be playing with would include TJD, Hunter, Franklin, Rob etc. Things might look a lot different (more positive) to him.
  10. I also noticed that once when he was pulled out. At first it looked like he might have been fired up about the game and us making a little bit of a run (positively) but then the exaggerated, leaping chest bumps, acting like he just won 100million dollars etc soon made it clear that he was sarcastic/mocking and being a D@#K.
  11. You gave me a little more hope. A healthy De’Ron would mean a lot. It would be huge if Hunter is able to play and is as good as advertised. Hopefully (who knows) Thompson is helpful. Even though he only played a few minutes the other day he at least seemed to have a feel for where to position himself on defense and to rebound. Pre-concussion Rob would also be a big improvement. Hope I’m wrong but am not sure about Smith turning it around as he seems to have regressed and his confidence level on offense seems to be around the zero level.
  12. The greatest hits video would be very long. The number of unforced TO’s when throwing lazy lateral passes, pounding the ball into the dirt and then having to shoot a rushed shot to beat the shot clock, putting up quick shots after we claw back to a small lead (there are times where it almost seems as though he thinks it’s time to “get his” now that we have a lead) etc etc. The maddening thing is that he has talent, if he chose to harness it, and does have stretches of playing strong defense and making good entry passes. The risk/reward equation, however, is way out of whack. I had hoped he would stay within himself this year but after three years it is obvious that ship has sailed.
  13. The worrisome thing is that I would not bet much on the offense improving next year. Freshman TJD replacing senior Morgan and Franklin replacing Romeo does not give me a lot of hope of big improvement unless we land a few other players (Brooks, a longshot these days and one or two shooters). Even if we land a good shooter or two they will most likely be freshmen that are a year or two away.
  14. They both drive me nuts. Tonight they played a combined 38 minutes and were 2-13 from the field with 6 TO’s and 1 assist (Smith did have 6 boards). I would love to know Smith’s shooting percentage when he takes shots within 3 feet. He seems to eat half of them and miss a quarter of the others.
  15. Holtmans first year definitely included money for his Butler buyout. His actual annual pay package is a similar amount to Archie’s.
  16. “JMV said he thinks Archie is the one who's soft and that IU looks like a junior high team offensively.” Pretty classless for JMV to insult junior high school teams like that.
  17. Agree. If I’m casually watching a game, in which I don’t really care who wins, the ACC games are typically much more entertaining than watching the BT.
  18. I was lucky enough to be really spoiled by watching great basketball when I was at IU. Hard to believe the senior students currently at IU will have only seen one tourney team. Just unreal/sad/pathetic.
  19. True, plenty of choices to chose from :(
  20. We score out of the time out we probably win. What a bummer.
  21. Morgan 3-14 Al, Rob and Green were a combined 4-21 Green with 7 shots, 1-7, in 19 minutes. 3 TO’s with 1 assist. Smith 1-6 in 19 minutes with 3 TO’s and 0 assists (did have 6 boards). Romeo 2-6 in 32 minutes.....6 shots. 8 guys played and only McBob took less shots than Romeo. Nice effort but the offense is broke.
  22. Kline hits a three that crawls over the rim. Morgan drives from 25 feet out and slips and falls and Haarms tips it in (legally in my opinion) over Morgan. Sounds about right. Great to at least see them play hard. As someone else said it’s too bad the bar is that low but that’s the situation right now.
  23. I still can’t believe Kline’s last 3 went in
