Im not claiming that our next coach will absolutely be one of those two men, but neither of those are clear denials. Simply statements of fact that they like their job and/or the people they work with. i like my teaching job, my school and my coworkers…but I would absolutely leave for a better/different one depending on the circumstances edit: if the quoted post was sarcasm, then I apologize. Hard to tell online

Maybe being at IU would be enough for him. You can’t get THAT much higher on the coaching food chain if he wins consistently and isn’t run off

My 2 cents re: Beard, and I don’t mean to get religious so if this needs to be deleted due to site rules, I understand: the only way a man can truly change, IMHO, is through the Lord. Obviously, the Bible preaches second chances, as that is essentially what being saved by grace is. And while we may not have all been the perpetrator in a DV situation, sin is sin and we all are guilty of that. IF, (and that’s a big if) Beard has repented, truly repented and working towards saintification, and the school/admins believe that to also be true after vetting him/the situation, who I am to judge. I am not sinless and cannot cast the first stone, as the Good Book says. Do I believe the above to be true? No. But could it? Sure.

I can’t remember but isn’t there a number like ‘no team with a NET better than X has missed the tournament?’ im sure its not in the 50s, maybe not even the 40s. I’m just curious for those more knowledgeable than me

Hasn't made the NCAA tournament once since being hired at oklahoma and hasn't finished in the top half of the Big 12 except for his first season there. Dakich with another bad take IMO

It might have been said already (haven't gone back and read every post), but Chris Beard is still seen as a "risky hire" because of an arrest he was aquitted for, correct? If he is in coaching purgatory, Coach Knight quote or not, he JUMPS at the first opportunity to coach a HIGH major - even one that has fallen from grace in recent years due to lack of on-court success. He is your first phone call.
