That is an interesting potential correlation. Hard to say whether it is true or not, or charactersitics of other factors (roster construction, portal additions, scheduling, etc.). Definitely not trying to be antagonistic with that last part - I am glad you brought that up for discussion.

I love the list @the_jackal put out. IU would do well with most of those guys. While I don't think it will be McCollum, I like the idea of a younger guy to hand to reigns to. IF he has gifted with the X's and O's that many (seemingly smarter than me) basketball minds believe, I would be comfortable with him with the reigns, especially if we truly hire a GM type with high level experience to mentor/guide him. Hoping for Brad, happy with most others

I also agree with this - the hire isn't about forgiveness. My analogy was meant to imply that just because he has had some patterns of behavior before that are "bad" or "wrong" doesn't mean he can't change. If others don't believe people are capable of change, that's their opinion. Do I think he will be our new head coach? No Do I "*want* him as our next head coach? Not really. Do I walk away from being a fan of the program if we hire him (assuming we did vast due dilligence and SD truly believe Beard is a changed/reformed man)? No

Agree with this 100%. I myself have committed terrible actions and sin everyday as we all do. I won’t get into a debate about Beard or anyone else’s sins, as I cannot cast the first stone
