    Well my Grandpa(RIP) used to say that if you didn't have ice by Jan. 15th the odds were you wouldn't be icefishing around here for the season. The clock is ticking and it ain't looking good. Might have to venture up to the U.P. to get my fix.

    Meh. I fish for table fare...that is to say I like to eat fish. Bass is not one of them. Used to to bass fish in some local tournaments. Always have been into bluegill, redear, crappie, perch, walleye, and the occasional pike through the ice.

    I have a high school buddy that lives in the FW Carroll school district and he says Caleb is a big 6'9"...whatever that means.

    I would have as well. He looks bigger in the pic. I caught a 22.5"er back in 1991. Weighed 6lbs. 10 oz. I got him on the wall. Almost 30 years later and I haven't came close to that. I gave up bass fishing 15 years ago or so...but I do catch them going after walleye.

    I have 2 Shimano's. They are both about 25 years old...I love them. I use them both for walleye.

    I don't know if I have a favorite reel. I have some Shimano's, Diawa's, Mitchell's, Pflueger's, and Shakespeare's. TBH, I haven't bought a reel in over 10 years. Rods, jigs, and lures...yes.
