  1. well at least we didn't wait till the 2nd half to collapse...
  2. Butler getting smashed 48-28...
  3. I'm so happy we've started well. We'll probably have a 10 or more lead at half, prior to our 2nd half collapse.
  4. If I were a fan, I'd rip our coach for fostering an environment where players have a lackadaisical, nonchalant warm up
  5. 7M is not chump change, but honestly it's not near an insurmountable barrier. It likely is not costing the school a thing. Reports/rumors are that boosters have already ponied up. And that's simply the way things they are right now with big time college sports like FB and BB. So in short, if the money is there, there's really no reason to stand pat. I wouldn't call it political capital either. Boosters boost. That's what they do. It depends on the dynamics between the admin/BOT and the boosters. So long as the boosters don't run the show, or feel like they are entitled to run the show, it's not an issue. It does give them input though, and I think that's fair. And to be honest, boosters can be better than the BOT/AD at identifying the right guy to "win". ADs and the BOT can play favorites or be incestuous about who they pick. On the other hand boosters can turn a blind eye to red flags. All in all, having the right mix can bring good balance to the decision.
  6. Poor, poor, Notre Dame... lol
  7. IDK. I really like FSU, but think the teams are going in different directions. FSU has lost their last 2 against decent teams (ND and UNC). And the fact they'll be playing in NC....
  8. Duke starting to click? I'm liking them making it to the final.
  9. I always cheer for Butler and ND unless they are playing IU. Glad to see Butler climb back in the game and eek one out.
  10. Yup. trying to pull a ND (last night).
  11. Crean went to the tourney with Marq 4 of his last 7 years there. Wayne was gone after Crean's first tourney appearance. And Dayton had some pretty nice talent while Archie was there. No Waynes, but very solid kids, more than solid for the conference. Like I said, I'm no big fan of Crean, I just recognize he did much better than Miller at IU. At UGA, time will tell. I know he brought in one of UGA's best classes ever a year or so ago. I thought they'd do better this year. I don't follow them much, but my UGA buds are not calling for his head yet.
  12. Yup, annoying as hell. I had to mute.
  13. at half, BYU up 12 I kind of want the Zags to win so I can cheer for them to lose all tourney.
  14. I disagree. Crean has 3 Sweet 16s and a final four. Archie had one good run in 13/14. Crean, after rebuilding the first three years at IU, went to the sweet 16, 3 of 6 years, and won the conference twice. Archie has yet to place top 5 in the Big10, and hasn't made the dance. That said, I wasn't a big fan of Crean, but he was noticeably better than Archie.
  15. I hate to say it, but I called it lol. I said I didn't see another win win if we lost to MSU. Gives me a sadz
  16. LOL. I don't want 11 next year. I just wanted a chance at winning one more game this year...
  17. Yup, but nobody will offer AM that IMO. 3.2 is top 20 or 25 pay. I was surprised UGA gave Crean that, but I can understand why they did. And Crean's resume is better than AM.
  18. I would have rather been the 11. But to answer your Q.... Yes lol... I'm going to go IL, but IMO it's a 50/50 toss between the two.
  19. Legally speaking, I'd guess that enforcing something like the bolded might be incredibly hard. But I think it's fair to say he'd be able to go back to a lesser conference. Dayton is currently paying 1.2M, which is actually paying pretty decent for Dayton. I can't see CAM getting an offer for more than 1.5M, but every little bit I'm sure would help to close the gap/loss from any buyout.
  20. Unnecessary, true. But it happens at just about every school. A good coaching candidate would give zero sheets about some knucklehead on wiki.... There are knuckleheads everywhere. At the end of the day, most coaches work their azzes off. They are paid a lot of money to do so. There are lots of things to point to, but at the end of the day, it just didn't work out. I think it's fair to say that perhaps Archie just bumped his head on the ceiling stepping up to the Big10. Any coaching candidate that would be frightened away by something like that is soft anyway, and we're better off without them.
  21. https://trustees.iu.edu/meetings-minutes/meeting-schedule-future-dates.html Exec BOT session tomorrow
  22. Ya think the NCAA would approve a segway on the sidelines?
