Sure it is used in sports. When Isiah was coaching the Pacers he made the comment "We have to many "pretty" players, we need some Dawgs. He was talking about guys who compete until they have nothing left. Guys who battle for every possession. Who are relentless on defense. Who don't back away from a challenge. The Pacers got Ron Artest, who fit the description, but had issues. But that is the basic idea. Another good description is your own signature here on the forum. "You must operate with a level of toughness in everything you do....."

I think you meant Madison Square Garden for that third game. Market Square arena was demolished around 2001 or so.

Why woulld he leave Butler for OSU? With the state of both programs, I'd stay at Butler.

I think it points more towards health reasons being why Motta is leaving.

I am curious about McRoberts as well. He may not have the most talent of any guy on the team, but he worked his butt off when he got a chance. I really like that sort of player.

It might somewhat depend on how much pressing the defensively. Need to keep fresh legs and energy level for much of that.

On the other hand, if he is not making a change, then he has nothing to say.

So, for the amount Crean's crew would have spent on one week's worth of recruiting, we now have a new staff. Sounds OK to me.
