  1. No way to ever predict this game, but we get the bounces... IU 33 PU 25
  2. Anderson's was awful. Completely agree. A lob with no chance.
  3. I don't think he wanted to wait. I think he wanted to attack when he had the opportunity and he got a good look. Davis makes that put back, we're having a different conversation about a freshman point guard being confident and aggressive; and I don't think he made a freshman mistake at all.
  4. I actually loved that he didn't call a timeout there. Trust in your kids is built with moments like that, and we got a decent look and a terrific opportunity for a put back. We wouldn't have done a lot better than that even with a timeout. Too early? Yeah....I can agree with that. But I'm not blaming Archie for no timeout. I might for playing Durham for 36 minutes; and I might put some blame on Justin Smith for giving us almost nothing today; but I don't mind not calling a timeout there. Edit : This loss will not hurt Indiana at all come Selection Sunday. Not one bit. It's not a good loss; and it's one we can learn from; but were short handed and simply didn't play well. If I'm Archie Miller; I can't WAIT to show them the film and can't WAIT to talk about missing 5 of 15 free throws and having 18 turnovers. I HATE losing; but if there's one we can grow from, that was it.
  5. We do, but the kid who made the most dumb plays is a junior.
  6. Condescension aside....what he did yesterday, on back to back plays, was dirty. Regardless of what happened before. Football is a very grey game. But...that doesn't justify two straight reactions that cost your team.
  7. I thought Stepanak was dirty. The targeting call was...questionable. Been a year long problem.
  8. Groundhog Day. This team... They are undisciplined and borderline dirty. I cannot stand that RPO sometimes....Ramsey needs to pull it and throw it on occasion to make it a threat. Yet we hung right in there and looked really good at times, too. It's maddening.
  9. Best of luck to the kid. I was hoping he could learn a lot from Morgan this season, and perhaps he still can. Glad we have enough depth to sustain this and don't have to count on him. Could be anything from an infection to a blood clot to something neuro-muscular. Looking forward to seeing him healthy next season.
  10. That;s kinda' not bad. Well done, lads. Green is done. Backup/mop up role is where he should be. I re-watched the Chicago State game last night (yeah...bored), and he's just not very good. Athletic, yes. But way too many bad shots and turnovers and he plays out of control.
  11. Michigan 44 Indiana 10 Because we overlook them looking forward to Purdue.
  12. Doesn't have to be at the professional or even college level to have a better understanding of the game. Vin Scully played in the Police Athletic League..no higher, but the guy knows baseball. Don Fischer played both basketball and football as a kid. Hell, even Bob Lamey played football in his youth. Lisa Byington calls the game like a fan. Like she has no knowledge of the game itself, but simply an interest in it.
  13. Then Lisa Byington would make a terrific women's basketball commentator for BTN. Unless someone is as good as Bob Costas or Mike Tirico, I have very little interest in listening to play by play people calling sports they never played. She sounds like she's reading from a teleprompter and does little more than state the facts of a game my eyes can already see. To football, I think she adds next to nothing. Same with Doris Burke. In case that sounds sexist, I don't like Bill Walton either. Or Billy Packer. But at least they have some knowledge of the game beyond facts. I don't dislike Joe Buck as much as some do, but he's another one. (I also can't stand Pam Ward calling football. Sorry)
  14. I refuse to state an opinion that could be taken as sexist. I don't. Shocking, I'm sure.
  15. But he's better than the woman who doesn't know the 8 yard line from the 12 yard line.
  16. I'll give credit where credit is due...he's playing much better today and has been more accurate (the first drive or two were awful, however); but if you seriously think he's thrown the ball this way all season, you haven't been watching, or watching objectively.
  17. Makes me wonder if his recruitment may actually have been easier than Leary's.
  18. He is very limited defensively and when Durham, Hunter, and Thompson get healthy; his minutes will decrease significantly. He also needs to get MUCH stronger. I see him as a potential redshirt, to be honest.
  19. He does, but he does not need to be as forceful offensively as he was many times. "Let the game come to you" seems to be a concept with which he is not familiar. And against better teams, that won't fly.
  20. This has aged very nicely.
