He did it last year, too... between Feb 27 and Mar 14 he won 5 straight - the last for of the B1G season and the first game of the B1G tournament... and followed that up with the double tech blowout loss to Nebraska... to finish 19-14 (10-10) and a 6th place B1G tie. Five more weeks and we can pull the plug on the Mediocre Mike Woodson experiment.

Woodson has FOUR YEARS worth of throwing players under the bus. He cannot take responsibility for anything in a program of which he is "king". Arrogant. Incompetent. Entitled. Lazy.

She should be "off limits" for this stuff... but then again, it appears that the entire family is pretty thin-skinned... but, please leave the family out of it... Trash Mediocre Mike, but the kid cannot help that she's his spawn.

I'd love to see Dolson toss a bag at Otzelberger... it's an incredible long shot, but if Brad Stevens is a "no" and Dusty says "no", why not? You can never hire the dude you don't ask to be your coach.

Admittedly, I did not watch the game... but I have to ask... If Rice, Carlyle, Reneau and Tucker are such liabilities (and from what I've seen, they are)... why are they in the game at critical junctures? Seems to me to be a coaching/leadership issue. Of course, we all know and agree that there is... but inquiring minds just want to know why.

In a single word: NEPOTISM. Woodson is protected by Buckner, the BoT and the big money donors. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

The style of play is different today, but the fundamentals (no pun intended) still apply. Define a winning culture, recruit to that culture, develop players for all roles - "stars" and contributors ("role players"), play hard nose defense and a modern offense. Develop a system and recruit players who fit that system...

Agreed. I, too, was fortunate enough to witness Bob Knight's glory years in the early '70s through the mid '90s...through the years, Knight and Keady battled each other, but both taught the game, developed young boys into men who understood a lot about doing your job, doing it the right way and just flat working hard. Sadly, the farm school up north has continued that work in the person of Matt Painter, and Indiana has floundered with clowns and incompetence. It's pretty depressing, actually, and even more so that the clown leading the program today was a product of Knight's mentoring.

What is this "develops" that you speak of? Clearly we haven't seen much of that in the past 8-10 years.

Agreed... and we still have a incompetent, entitled and arrogant man in the coaching position... let's start with getting him fired, first and foremost.

That just sucks.

I completely understand that it was manipulation by Buckner, but my point is that Indiana didn't get May last year and now he's one of the top two names on almost everyone's list.. and while I'd love to see Dusty at Indiana, I am not sure how viable it really is. What a difference one year makes.

I also find it interesting that many here (not necessarily you) are putting Stevens and Dusty May in the category of "home run hires" and "big dogs"... and Dolson missed on Stevens (and Pearl) last year. Buckner had agreed to let Woodson go if Dolson could lock down a big name coach... Dusty was on the table, and is now considered a prime target, but it wasn't good enough for Buckner last year when it was significantly more possible. After hiring Cignetti, and with Buckner (hopefully) out of the way, I am willing to sit back and let Scott Dolson do what he's paid to do - hire coaches...

There was a day when that would have been incredibly possible. Painter wanted to be a Hoosier so badly out of high school... Knight didn't give him the time of day and he went to Purdue. The rest is history. But even if we did get Painter, we'd be assured of two things: we'd make the NCAA tournament every year and we'd crash and burn before seeing any glory.
