IU @ Nebraska - 4pm - BTN - Game thread
MartintheMopMan replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Can we get the lines in Cook Hall checked out? Do we have them line-up in a different spot for free throws during practice or... what? How can a team of shooters not make a FT? -

I doubt there are even 3 girls on the team from a state other than OR or WA. They're generally representative too. That's the Northwestern look. You can compare them to OSU and see the similarities and the vast differences. OU and OSU have a very Indiana and Purdue situation with their schools. Definitely, American South is where I'd go for a blonde cheerleader. Anything in the Southeast from Clemson to Ole Miss will have prime blondes. -

This board loves their cheerleaders. They're too midwestern for me. I'd rather scout either Arizona/West Texas or the Northern Midwest/Tundras (Minnesota, Wisco, Dakotas, the Norwegian settlements). I wonder if anyone has done a comparative study of cheerleaders in geographic areas and their shared physical characteristics. That would be fascinating. -

Yeah, there's plenty of binging we'll be doing. Binge drinking every game. -

Why are we having such trouble getting back? What is this defense we're running and why do we think it's working? Oh my gosh guys, you have to keep feeding TB if you don't have JBJ to help space the floor. SOMEBODY has to step-up on offense. Z3, make a stupid shot. Max, where is the Max from the last few games? OG, keep doing what you're doing. -

We need a stop and two threes in the next 32 seconds. I cannot keep doing so poorly at pick'ems. I'm going to develop a complex. -

I miss JBJ. -

I can do that in theory since I stream to my computer then TV for BTN. But, then I can't pay attention to chat or the thread since I'm like a minute behind. I'm trying out different apps. I'll let you know if I find anything better. -

These announcers are the worst. I'd rather hear crazy stoned ramblings. -

Tune-in delays by a minute. That's why I can't get this synced. That's so frustrating. -

Crap. One Pick'em down. Nebraska leads at the first media break (because it's tied and home team gets tiebreakers). -

They censor the station identification on tunein? Weird. Finally going to set it up so I can listen to Fisch while I watch. ESPN had the streams presynced for the playoffs and it reminded me how much better it was. The MSU one was amazing because it just slowly had all the hope and joy drain out of the radio feller. Wait, what the heck? Fisch is behind the TV? I DON'T HAVE THE TOOLS TO FIX THAT DIRECTION FISCH! -

Maybe it's a fruity deal. -
Worse. I know people keep saying this, and his defense is poor so I understand. But, I just don't see him giving up more scores than he makes. And beyond pure production, it gives us an option on offense who other teams can't lose track of because he'll make them pay. So, he helps other players score in a way that I don't know if RoJo or Colin or anyone else can provide. This game will be harder without him. I wrote a longer reply, but I think it's just a wordy way of saying, you're right. It's all about intent. I certainly wasn't intending to be mean about it (and I don't think Hova was either). It's impossible to read tone online, but if we were in person it would be friendly and conversational. Like telling someone they're crazy to think Cook is a better QB prospect than Goff during a draft discussion. Icing it? If he hasn't practiced or done anything to aggravate it very recently, then he may have had surgery in the last couple of days. You wouldn't ice this long after the initial injury.

Buckle up folks. With JBJ out we will have everyone trying to up their production to keep our offense on pace. This could be fine or it could end up with a ton of hero ball. -
Nobody is worked up but it's silly and it makes fans look a little loony. And no one has said not to talk about it and speculate. The responses to the speculation are also what the board is for; to discuss the ideas put forward by posters. Sometimes the discussion is all praise and positive, sometimes it's everyone disagreeing.

The way RoJo just played against Rutgers I can't believe how confident everyone is in him. Say what you will about JBJ, but 0 pts 5 TOs is just... wow. JBJ is a huge weapon on the offensive end. We are worse without him on the floor, our offense is a little more predictable and we lose some of our ability to score. If RoJo feels up to making up the 20 points per game sitting on the bench injured, then we are a much better team than we thought.

Waiting a few days will almost certainly not have a negative effect on a knee injury. They probably still wouldn't delay quite this long though. There are diagnostic reasons to wait. Swelling like Aloha suggested, maybe they performed a diagnostic injection, maybe a test of a certain drug like an anti-inflammatory, maybe it's looked bad on the imaging and he needs an arthroscopy. And they might have diagnosed and treated but are still testing his current capabilities. Whatever it is, unless he tells them they can release it then no one is allowed to say what the exact problem is.

What is offense? And defense.
