  1. And recruit's parents would be a huge issue if I was talking about keeping Crean for 2-years rather than 6 months. Recruits and their parents will have the security of knowing who they'll be playing for when they get to school.    And if it's about Indiana and not Crean, then why dismiss a plan that is better for the team in order to get at Crean faster? There are mechanics that keep OG and Morgan in place while Crean is here. Then, when/if a new coach is found, you transition them in and they can meet with the players/recruits who can then make their decisions. If you just kick Crean to the curb tomorrow, then it will be chaos in the next 6 months rather than an orderly transition. It isn't far fetched to keep anyone if they know who they are going to play for, it's only far fetched while they have the freedom to recommit elsewhere and they don't know who the coach is. Heck, if Crean were fired and OG and Morgan had the choice between finding another school to play for now or waiting until May for IU to hire a new coach to see if they fit their play style, they would be stupid to stay. There is just too much risk for them to hold out until spring recruiting if they didn't have to.
  2. With the right coach, definitely. With no coach and no solid prospects at least until the end of the season all while knowing they don't have an incoming 2015 class (there is absolutely no way Morgan and OG would stick with an interim coach)? I doubt it.
  3. Who do you think would stay without knowing who the coach they got in 6-8 months was going to be? Though, I think they'd finish up the year before transferring.
  4. Just because we don't have commits doesn't mean that we don't have recruits. Groundwork is laid for years and years. Though, it would be kind of fitting for all three Gordons to play for different coaches.
  5. Who said anything about championships? Or even keeping Crean. I'm willing to put up with Crean until a new coach is hired. I don't know why you think that means "stick with Crean forever and hope he winds a championship." But if the choice is a string of interim coaches, no recruiting, loss of players, loss of recruits, all to go through months of a coaching search where we end up with some crap coach with a crap resume. And then we spend the next 6 years complaining about that coach and wishing we'd gotten a better one. Been there, done that. Twice. I'd rather keep Crean in town until a new coach is hired. That way the players know who would be taking over and may actually consider staying, recruiting can start immediately, and we can get a coach of the caliber we deserve because we aren't asking them to take over a dumpster fire. If you think the situation now even COMPARES to the program before he showed up then you have no idea what it was like before.
  6. I'm never even close on these. But, PSU is better than Michigan. So, Mascots - 38 No mascots - 0
  7. I see it. Were you around for the last coaching search? Firing Crean at the beginning of the season will be more than painful, it will mean another dark era and at the end we end up with what? Another coach willing to jump into a terrible situation aka Crean 2.0.
  8. My position on firing Crean still has to be what it has been. I do not want to go through a coaching search. Crean better not walk away until we have someone better ready to sign. A coaching search means the destruction of everything that has been built.
  9. I don't know what to tell you. In Wilson's halftime interview Wilson himself said that Coleman was benched for the fumble and that it has been a longtime rule that you're benched when you fumble.
  10. What? Did you mean to quote my post? The announcers didn't say anything, Coach Wilson said it either going into the locker room or coming out of it.
  11. According to Wilson, because the rule is that players sit after a fumble.
  12. Seriously, one of the worst games I've ever seen. Both teams were competing to see who could be the worst team, we just happened to do it better. Michigan is as bad as advertised, we were just worse. It's a real bummer, we could have had it this year.
  13. And no on-side kick? Same thing. We aren't going to win most likely, but at least make an effort. What's the worst that can happen?
  14. Right around as sad as caring what other people do on a sports message board.
  15. I've been around IU a long time. It's a sad day when people expect you to be positive about our football team. Also, I can't believe how bad we are. This is one of the worst games of football I've ever watched. For everyone.
  16. People were really hard on me last week for saying we weren't going to make a bowl for sure this year. Can I start saying it again?
  17. At least is isn't a shutout.
  18. Michigan is just a better team than MSU.
  19. Man. My tv is way behind. Diamont just got on the field.
  20. This is a little off-topic, but related to the SU angle. In anticipation of possible sanctions some SU fans are suggesting leaving the NCAA all together. This is not a joke.
  21.     But, even without the transfer stuff, then sure. On pure numbers we're in the same scholly situation as SU if they don't lose any. But, no one is worried about their numbers and adding TB if they don't lose any. I don't see any reason for us to worry with the same numbers and no risk of losing.
  22. Ahhhhhh! I'm so happy! I love when San Fran wins things! Maybe, transfer some of that to football...
  23. A loss to us while we don't have a QB should really be the nail in anyone's coaching coffin.
