(2016) PG Jaylen Fisher to TCU
MartintheMopMan replied to WilJos3390's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Not if it turns out he's a confederacy supporter who believes the south will rise again. -
(2016) PG Curtis Jones to IU

If CuJo likes underage drinking and copious amounts of anonymous sex then there are few better times for us to host him. -
(2016) DT Michael Perry

Wow, who ever expected to see IU football listed with those schools? Much less on the top of the list. -

Plugged into the DMV? Can he let me skip that awful line? -
Now Vonleh and I are going to become besties!

(2016) LB Jango Glackin to Northwestern

Here's a sobering thought. Kids named Jango after Jango Fett in Star Wars Episode II are now in high school and class of 2018/19 recruits. -
(2016) RB Kiante Enis to IU

I know right? Getting out-recruited by an incredible former NFL coach. Who would have thought it? -

Or it can have lions and topless dancers. I mean why not? -
A 5'9 PG? Sounds like the same model we use on the boy's team.

Looks like they took that stadium photo during a game! -
Hartman reminds me of Sheehey, awesome in limited minutes, not so awesome starting.

Thanks, Kentucky for revealing yourself

Disagree. There's nothing in the rulebook that says a horse can't play basketball. -

They went anti-crean for a few pages in the middle and lost focus. Though I guess we did too. But they were in it deeper for longer so it makes sense. -
(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

The board I read (with over 2500 posts on TB) is heartbroken. As of Thursday the posters were all "The rumor I heard is Bryant committed last week to jb. Bryant wanted to wait till his last game to announce." Now it's "OMG... the fact that he picked IU over us really puts a lot of things in a new perspective. One that I'm not particularly fond of." I love it. -

(2016) QB Brandon Peters to Michigan

Anyone who has a Michigan offer and doesn't commit there is a dirty Seahawks fan and dead to me. -

Seriously. All of the posts I'm seeing are either total panic about the fact that they're boned or trying to figure out a way to game the system. QUICK! Give a walk-on a scholarship! -

http://zagsblog.com/articles/with-mccullough-departure-syracuse-has-bigger-need-for-bryant/ "“Indiana, just having those veterans there, and having those guys that want you to come play with them, and would love for you to come play with them,” Bryant said at the McDonald’s Game. “And just not limiting anything you could do.” “And Missouri, having coach Rob [Fulford] there, who was my old high school coach, and having Montaque Gill-Caesar, who was my old teammate last year. Him and me have so much chemistry together. We love playing with each other.” Bryant also added that although Syracuse is still in the mix." Positives of IU. Positives of Missouri. Oh, and also Syracuse still exists and needs him. -

No, they just think that as long as the appeal is out there the rule no longer applies because it's stayed while they appeal. I think it's way too shady for a program that just got penalized to try and pull. But, I think they have the room anyway. -

MartintheMopMan replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
From what I understand about what the fans think is the case, they can sign him and defer the punishment until next year as long as they sign him after they've filed their written appeal. I think they're wrong, but what do I know? People have said prior to this that there was a scholarship already open for TB if he wanted it. They were confused why he hadn't said he was going to SU yet since they'd figured out the scholarships. -

That reminds me. On their boards they also thought Trimble was a "good miss" and they were better off without him. -

Their boards are still ridiculously optimistic. They'd posted 30 page on him since my last update so it was a lot. But, they spent a while making fun of Tom Crean. And of Yogi. And discussing if they have room for TB. They think he's still just waiting to commit to them and hasn't for any of the following reasons. 1. He wants to commit in NY 2. He has to wait until the written appeal is filed 3. Staff have told him to deny they've been in contact with him and to wait because of NCAA issues if he were truthful 4. Looking to see how Kentucky shakes out They think his comments about IU recently reek of our cloying desperation and make us even less attractive to him and that anyone who says we're in good shape is just being kept in the dark because he already knows he is going to SU. -

MartintheMopMan replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It doesn't even make sense. Everyone is like "Oh, well Crean hasn't played two big men in the past" well, when did he have two starting quality big men at once? Hanner and Holt? No. Hanner and Vonleh? No. Cody and Jurkin? No way. Vonleh and Fisher is the closest example, but I don't know that Fisher was strong enough/good enough at the time to justify that. Could we afford to give up any shooting on that team? If Cody and Vonleh had played on the same team, then there is no way they wouldn't have played together. -
