  1. I picked a school at random to make my point that if he didn’t have any IU affiliation, fans wouldn’t be so adamant about him. Coincidentally he actually was an assistant at Eastern Michigan. Schools are going to take a look at him because he’s the flavor of the month. Guys going deep into the tournament and parlaying that into a better job is nothing new. I simply have no appetite for another rebuild. Absolutely none. My fandom can’t take more of it.
  2. You can a say that you don’t care that he was an IU manager, but it’s 100% clouding peoples judgment. Folks are talking themselves into Cinderella because he used to wear IU slippers. When you take over a program with no history, you have no expectations. You deal with zero pressure. You don’t compete against premier schools for recruits. You can just slowly build your program along the way. IU fans want to win now. They’re not going to stick around patiently for Dusty May to slowly build a team. He’s not winning 54% of his games at IU and getting a fifth season. I want a coach who has proven he can win at the highest level of college basketball. That’s not Dusty May.
  3. Archie Miller went to an elite eight and made four straight tournaments before coming to IU. His last four years at Dayton he went 26-11, 27-9, 25-8, and 24-8. Overall he won 69% of his games, and 67% of his conference. Yes, he had a better resume at the time IU hired him than Dusty May currently has. Why do the Dusty fans have such a hard time accepting that he's a very risky hire in a lot of people’s minds? If he was Dusty May, former Central Michigan manager, the desire would not be nearly as strong. But, he’s an “IU guy,” so his question marks get looked past.
  4. He’d give me less hope than I had when Archie was hired. Archie had a much better resume. I just can’t get excited about a mid major guy with May’s resume. Not when the program is in the state that it’s in.
  5. I wouldn’t be happy with Dusty but I would be happy to be rid of Woodson. So overall I would probably be happy.
  6. He’s the same age as the football coach we just hired. Hiring someone with a shortish shelf life isn’t ideal, but Pearl and Woody are probably 15 years apart when it comes to energy levels, and Pearl’s been a college basketball head coach for 30 years. Woody’s low E, hadn’t been a head coach for almost a decade, and had never been a college coach before. Their situations are world’s apart.
  7. Holy sh**…. Oh dear god.. not a … barbecue!!!
  8. Bruce Pearl would be an absolute grand slam hire and anyone saying otherwise is lying to themselves.
  9. I want to be Duke/UNC/Uk/Kansas, lol.
  10. It’s not money, so I just want IU to hire the best, most proven coach that you can. And if you’re a donor who’s not looking to have to buy out another coach4 years from now, Bruce Pearl makes that a lot more likely than Dusty May.
  11. Sounds like we’re starting from scratch next year regardless. Better to do it with a coach who has more than a few years left (and a coach who didn’t put us in this mess in the first place).
  12. Imo, he only goes after plan A guys because his talent evaluation abilities are poor and he doesn’t put the time in to identify under the radar guys. He goes after guys top schools are going for because if they’re going for them then they must be good.
  13. Rumor is that Woody caught wind that Trey was going for his cigar stash after the game and had to put an immediate stop to it.
  14. I don’t think this administration can identify those, though, so I think they need to bring in a proven winner.
  15. If Dakich was the AD he would fire everyone and make himself the head coach.
  16. Sitting here putting off some work I need to get done... Why don't reporters ever ask Woodson the important questions? It's always what went wrong tonight, what can you do to get the team turned around. What I want to know is if tonight is a red or a white night for Woody, and if tonight is a dry or a sweet night.
  17. I don't want Dusty and I have no appetite for waiting, but the excitement of a new coach/no more Mike Woodson would be enough of a dopamine hit to last me... until our first loss, lol.
  18. This quote sounds like a compilation of posts from this thread imitating Woodson.
  19. Ahh, optimistic of you to think this is the bottom...
  20. Does Woodson know they don't play 82 games in college basketball? 14-12 in the NBA has you right in the thick of things.
  21. I can smell the cigars from here.
  22. I think all but the most devoted sunshine pumpers have been broken at this point. Mike Woodson has sucked every drop of life out of this fanbase.
  23. Down by 20 at home to a Nebraska team that is 1-7 on the road. Mike Woodson is pulling off one of the greatest heists in American history.
  24. The double hump from today being hump day is too much for this team to overcome.
  25. Unfortunately people almost certainly bought those tickets, so the administration still gets its money and will remain satisfied.
