He was asked to throw more in these four games in 2014 than Ramsey was asked to throw this afternoon. With a much better running game, and a much better offensive line he was a much worse quarterback . -

We showed in the Ohio State game that we run some read option with Ramsey. UVA knew that, and I assume it was mentioned while they were preparing against us. Sure they likely didn't expect to see it for the entire game, but I don't think it's accurate to say that we completely caught them off guard by playing Ramsey. -

In less than 3 quarters too. -

Nope. He also only threw for more than 120 yards in a game once, and more than 100 yards only 3 times. -

There's literally zero reason to compare Zander and Ramsey. They can both run the football, but that's it. These were Zander's 2014 numbers, the only time that he got extended starting reps. -

Zander has a career passing percentage of 49.4%. He threw for two career touchdown passes. He was very bad. Ramsey threw two touchdowns this afternoon alone. To try and compare the two is absurd. -

Personally I'd be fine with Lagow not taking another snap the rest of the season. Switching quarterbacks back and forth is the worst thing you could do. Ramsey showed me enough today to want to roll with him from here on out. -

The thing is, all we need Ramsey to be is average. 25-30 pass attempts, 200 yards, preferably zero turnovers. We have a good enough defense to where if we can get that out of our quarterback then I think we'll be in good shape. We don't need Ramsey to sit in the pocket and make "NFL throws". What we need is a quarterback that can manage the game and not turn the ball over. Lagow can't do that. Sure, he can throw a perfect spiral 60 yard bomb, but we don't know if our receiver is going to catch it, if the other team is going to catch it, or if the lady at the ticket booth is going to catch it. He just isn't a reliable quarterback. With this being his last year I would much rather throw the redshirt freshman into the fire, especially since there isn't, imo, a drop off when you go with Ramsey. -

I think some people are forgetting just how bad Zander was at throwing the football. They want to make a comparison between the two just because they both can run. Beyond that there's not much of a comparison at all. -

I think we watched two completely different games... -

I feel better about our season now. The running game is still iffy but Ellison showed some promise. The o line needs to get better. My biggest concern though is that the staff will go back to Lagow next weekend. Ramsey earned the right to start. Let Lagow control the clipboard and hope he doesn't give it to the other team. -

You seem kind of negative on Ramsey man... He's not going to be perfect but he's 16/20 for 173 yards and has 3 touchdowns and zero turnovers. He's shown me enough to think that he's the best option moving forward. -

Let's go with youth and have Ellison and Ramsey to replace Lagow and Majette in the starting lineup. Trust the youth movement! -

Sheesh. That's an.. Interesting take. Lol. I get that Zander played with a ton of heart and everything, but he wasn't a Power 5 quality quarterback. Not even close. We basically had zero passing game back when he got extended reps. -

He's already much better. Zander couldn't throw the ball at all. All he could do was run. He only weighed 170 pounds so he took a beating doing so. Ramsey is a legitimate quarterback. -

Yup. There's no need to put Lagow back in unless Ramsey is injured. I feel bad for Lagow, but this is much better for the team. -

Ramsey is the better option, imo. We're more balanced with him out there. He's a threat to run so it keeps the defense honest. It helps our running backs because the defense doesn't know if they or Ramsey will get it on running plays. He doesn't need to do anything special. Just take care of the ball and hit the open guy. I hope they don't go back to Lagow. -

Bring back Wilson! Really though, what was that?? We run it right up the middle three straight times. If you're gonna do that at least put in a big back like Ellison. What was the point in bringing in Ramsey just to have him hand it off? I have so many questions right now. -

Ahhh good ole Richard Lagow. I finally get a working stream and the second play I see is an interception. Lol.
