Playing juco just ensures he gets an extra year I believe. He played 3 juco and 2 at Troy so he gets an extra year which will be his 6th.

Having an actual college basketball coach run the program you are invested in can be fun. IU was always going to fill the roster. We have no idea how these additions will eventually end up however having a grinder for a coach that is willing to get on a plane to close a deal should be a really good sign to IU fans that he is going to do whatever it takes and bust his butt along with his staff to turn IU around. Building a roster with a plan is music to my ears. Transfer portal rankings are not everything however just looking at the rankings of the IU players and West Virginia players going out compared to what he is trying to bring in and a clear upgrade can be seen from a numbers standpoint. Again that’s not everything but is noticeable. Let DeVries sizzle(cook still sounds better)

A couple things first big time recruiting battle for a top transfer recruit. Props to coach Devries and the staff he has for battling and landing this kid. DeVries seems to have a recruiting plan and sticks to it no matter the time table. From the outside and what we had for the last 4 years on the recruiting plan this is a breath of fresh air 2. This was an optics win for IU fans that care about those things. IU has taken it on the chin in these types of recruitments so for their sake I’m glad they got this one 3. DeVries has landed 3 top 40 transfer portal kids in his first 5 weeks on the job without a full staff. Grinder for sure. Some programs didn’t land any top 40 kids and he landed 3 so far (don’t care if one is his kid he still got him). Having said that I personally don’t put much stock in transfer portal rankings. That’s a lot of kids entering to keep tabs on when these guys rank 4 years worth of high school kids as well. But it’s another win for IU fans that care about optics

Paramount + is awesome and the fact I can go to other sites and see what their insiders are saying is a plus. Just finished Dexter Original Sin the other day. I’m perfectly fine with paying what I pay for my subscription.

You could probably take that back to the Crean years as well. Besides a couple of good runs he mostly was middlE of the pack. Other programs have stepped up while IU struggled over the last 20 years. Those programs put in money to compete and equal the playing field. Bad coaching, bad players, bad administration and other programs stepping up moving up the ladder while IU dropped. Sucks for young fans like you however that’s your program you are invested in. Just a middle of the pack B1G program that doesn’t stick out from the rest. Other teams used to be intimidated by the name now 0 programs in the B1G are scared of IU and the mostly expect to beat them. Kid from Rutgers a couple years said it on a podcast. Nobody is scared or cares about IU. Just another team and we expect to win every time we play them. Embrace the grind to getting out of the middle of the pack

Not really at least not for me. I knew most fans would lose their minds thinking IU could buy their way back to top but it doesn’t work that way. It is what it is. IU isn’t the IU of the 80s or 90s no matter how bad their fans want them to be. IU needs to get in line and grind their way back up the ladder. No shortcuts. IU is just another program with higher expectations then other non special programs
