Assistant coaches
Uspshoosier replied to IvanRenkosillegitimatechild's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He filled an open assistant spot that was left unfilled last year. You can have 5 assistants now instead of the old way with 3. IU only had 4 assistants last year. As long as they are ncaa certified any of the 5 can be used during evaluations but only 3 coaches other the then the head coach can be on the road at a time during the evaluation periods -
Transfer Portal w IU Interest
Uspshoosier replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Some thought a program with 4 winning conference records in 18 years with a new head coach should of landed more elite 26 kids that they probably spent less then a month at most to recruit compared to other programs recruiting the same kids for longer. Is what it is. Some still think IU basketball is what it was in the 80s and 90s. It’s not -

Odds/Thoughts on building top 25 preseason

Maybe not last night but against Clemson I think they had 53 possessions for the whole game if I read that correctly -
Odds/Thoughts on building top 25 preseason

Kind of the point. Some on here are jealous of his success at Iowa in his first year where he went 10-10 and wanted him at IU. I would have been fine with him at IU and would adjust the way I felt about his style but I feel he isn’t a national title contender which is what people here are IU want right? I don’t think his style is built for it. Muck it up means fouling the crap out of everyone every other play as well not just slow pace -

For me it’s because I’m not jealous of what some other first year coach did. Especially one that went 10-10 in conference and lost 6 of 8 heading into the post season. His success of failure has 0 effect on how optimistic I am about IU improving. Personally I don’t care for his style of play and afrer watching every Iowa conference game and most the non conference I don’t feel it will translate to winning big consistently against the upper tier teams. His style will muck it up enough to slow down the favorites however I don’t think they can string together enough wins against upper level teams to be a national champion threat for D1. Just my opinion. -
And if he was he preferred the Iowa job. National media reported that around the time his name was brought up as a serious candidate for IU. Most on here brushed that off and didn’t believe he would want the Iowa job over the IU job. All you had to do was watch his 2 episodes on the Journey where they showed old pictures of him as a kid in a Iowa shirt and how he was talking about the program where he went and watched games as a kid to know that those reports were right. Same with Nedved at Minny where his parents had season tickets up until he took over. Thoses programs took advantage of a built in connection. For whatever reason IU has struggled doing that with their program

His style of play will keep them in every game. Brutal watch but by watching them all year they rarely got blown out. Personally I struggle watching his style of play. They need to hit FTs. Left too many points out there

Most of my brackets I filled out I had Houston coming out of that region because they are playing 2 miles from campus next week
