  1. Everyone has to remember that we all had a lot of growing up to do as teenagers----some of that comes from experience.   I learned a lot in high school and at IU---but learned just as much in some ways in the "school of hard knocks"!   It's just part of life---lots of faith, patience, and prayers needed!
  2. And the hits just keep on a coming for IU basketball and its family.....   Keep hope alive---tomorrow is a new day!
  3. Beowulf50---my son just got his license too--scary stuff but part of growing up.   Too early to tell impact on recruiting long-term---need more info---but it is another short term black eye at the least that others will try to use against us with recruits' parents.
  4. I agree Kepner ---I just don't buy the Creaning argument---will have to have more proof ----and I think this year's team will actually be much better than last
  5. Hey now Kepner---don't use Knight's name in vain!  He did his share of "knighting" but it was also for good reason---usually for discipline problems.   But don't kid yourself---he was also very LOYAL to his players and former players.  I actually still hold out hope he shows up in some form---even if it's by video---for Guyton's induction!
  6. Yep---Mizzou is suddenly becoming a major PAYOR--I mean PLAYER---in SEC recruiting!
  7. TB----come on over to IU!
  8. I hope you are right #1CreanApologist---we could use some good 5 star recruiting news!
  9. I hold a similar view Crean and Crimson----and I hope we are right.   I am tired of the constant turnover!  Schoosier does have a point there!
  10. Just to clarify hoosierpap---do you mean qualified for IU now?---at the break?-----or for 2015?
  11. I think they could easily split time at the 5---but I don't see Perea at the 4 yet.
  12. BarrettBaller---I agree with you to an extent---but Remy was streaky and he could drain them when he was on too---and he certainly liked to slash like RoJo too.  I have not seen enough of RoJo in person yet and I know his rep is as a great shooter---but the few times I have seen him his shot was streaky too----like in Derby Classic versus Hysteria. If he gets a little more consistent--he will really be something.   He is coming in ahead of where Remy came in---but an upperclassmen Remy is similar based on what I have seen so far---I am hoping to be proven wrong!
  13. I actually agree with you schoosier IF we ran them off.  I am on record as being tired of this merry-go-round where we keep losing upperclassmen and replacing them with newbies and then doing it all over again the following year.   Rinse-Wash-Repeat!   What I am not privy to--- and do not know---is how much of that is IU's doing and how much of that is the player's choosing???   The answer to that question makes a huge difference!
  14. I agree in part with both Beowulf50 and BGleas that it was both the NCAA and Sampson that worked us over and cost us a lot of wins--cost us better recruits---and caused us to go through that miserable rebuilding process!   Call me jaded---but I don't think the Cuse or UNC will get much of anything.   I will have to see it to believe it!
  15. Remy did a lot of positive things for us in limited playing time.  I think he will help Xavier.
  16. I'd rather IU be TB's first choice but I agree with the posters that I would take him by default (Cuse getting in trouble) as opposed to not at all.  We could sure use that intimidator in the middle!
  17. Count me as a Remy fan too---I was disappointed to see him leave.   No inside info but my gut says he later questioned his decision to leave too---has come back to IU a few times since leaving and would have gotten playing time last year on a team that badly needed more/better guard options.   Hope he does well.
  18. Thanks hoosierpap--keep your ears open for more info and I will do the same.
  19. Hoosierpap---you could also be right about the Zags sources on multiple schollies not being from IU---I don't know that.  I just wanted to make sure accurate facts were related to Hoosier Nation as Zags clearly said MULTIPLE sources were telling him that.  It just made sense to me that would include IU connected sources as it was never refuted by IU.  Also I found it interesting that Coach McClain paid Kasongo a visit right after Holt accepted our last scholly.  Certainly some circumstancial evidence that supports the view that IU was continuing to look at his situation----not sure if the continued interest at the time was still for this year or for next year.
  20. Now Hoosierpap---please share what you can about what you are hearing?
  21. Thanks Hoosierpap---my sources are basketball related (non-IU) in Evansville and they were saying and others were repeating down here 3 things: 1. Lyle and IU had resumed discussions about him playing for IU---but not a done deal yet. 2. Lyle was likely coming to Hysteria. 3. Lyle could come at semester break---which I assumed meant on scholarship.   Later 2 out of 3 things were confirmed and happened and maybe the third will as well.  Whatever the staff is telling Lyle--I don't think he is great at keeping secrets as they are allegedly being repeated down here.  I normally don't pay attention to rumors--but when the Hysteria visit was confirmed and occurred---that was significant enough to get me to pay attention to all 3 points.
  22. Hoosierpap---I went back and checked the August 15, 2014 Zagsblog and it stated that even though IU only had one scholarship to offer that MULTIPLE SOURCES stated IU was interested in taking both Holt and Kasongo if they would commit.  I took that to mean it was not just Bender but also had to be IU as well.  You may have insider info that I am not privy to so I am not disagreeing with you--just reporting what I am hearing in Southern Indiana in the Evansville area and what I read in Zagsblog!   I will keep my ears open and keep reporting.
  23. And schoosier---your opinion is actually not too far off from mine.  If the coaches think he's ready to take a chance on--I will support their decision.  I am just nervous about it because of his reputation.    My difference with your opinion is that I think college kids--including good kids--getting alcohol violations in college is not unheard of and is different from someone with the reputation of anger issues, being a troublemaker, and thinking he is above the rules.  I suggest there is a big difference between the two and I do not see that as a double standard.    If the coaches think they can turn him around---I will keep an open mind.  But chemistry in sports is so very important and I don't want to see us hurt it for the sake of one talented kid.   My 2 cents.
  24. Good stuff hoosierpap---appreciate the insight. I am just reporting what I am hearing and reading and will continue to do so.  As I said it has been 2/3 correct so far!
  25. That talk down here came from the Evansville area at the exact same time as the---- IU is talking to him again--- and he is going to Hysteria--talk.  Two of the three have now come true so we shall see if the third does as well.  I also have one semi-connected source to the program who said the discussions were occurring too.    And don't forget Zags said IU was ready to take both Holt and Kasongo even though we only had one spot---Zags does not make that stuff up----source was from the program--so there is some way already established to make it happen if the coaches and Lyle decide it's a match.  We shall see.
