(2027 IUWBB) - Sydney Savoury

Belleville avenged its only regular season loss to Howell by defeating Howell 58-44 in a regional final. Savoury picked up 2 1st Q fouls and sat out a good portion of the half and had just 4 points at the break. In the 2nd half she was pretty much unstoppable scoring 18 pts - 11 in the 3rd Q. She finished with 22p, 5r, 5a, 2s, 1b, 1t. Howell's star player Lillie Williams was offered by IU in October '23 when she was being home schooled. She is a Michigan State commit. She's very tall and had a number of blocks but certainly didn't dominate the boards. She was also shot less than 50% FG in this game missing a significant number of shots at the rim and she also fouled out. -
Rutgers’ leading scorer Nènè Ndiaye plans to enter the transfer portal, she and her agency @staylinesports told @On3. The 6-1 junior averaged 14.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg and 1.4 spg, while shooting 42% from deep. https://www.on3.com/her/news/rutgers-nene-ndiaye-plans-to-enter-transfer-portal/

Westside 27-2) was beaten in the South Carolina 4A championship game 63-50 by North Augusta (28-1). Game wasn't streamed and I haven't found any box score info for this game. A snippet from a paywalled newspaper story: "... Frustrated and injured, Khalia Hartwell returned to the court for the final 88 seconds of a lost cause in the Class 4A high school girls basketball state championship game March 7 at Colonial Life Arena. She was determined to finish. North Augusta beat Westside, 63-50, in large part because the Yellow Jackets were able to shut down one of the best players in the country." 28 games per MaxPreps: 12.9p, 8.3r, .8a, .6s, 2.2b, 2.0t 50% FG, 9% on 3s (1-11), 68% FT -

In a battle of IU offers, '28 Ella Watts and Bob Jones HS (26-7) were beaten 61-43 by '29 Kristen Winston and Hoover HS (35-1) for the Alabama 7A championship. Hoover controlled the game from the outset and put tremendous defensive pressure on Bob Jones. Game announcer said they had 17 first half turnovers. Watts was a non-factor due to Hoover's denying her the ball. She finished with just 4 points and only managed 6 field goal attempts after a season average of 15.5 ppg. She did have 6 rebounds. MaxPreps 27 games: 15.5p, 7.4r, 1.6a, 1.9s, 1.0b, 2.4t 36% FG, 31% on 3s, 78% FT -

In a battle of IU offers, '29 Kristen Winston and Hoover HS (35-1) defeated '28 Ella Watts and Bob Jones HS (26-7) 61-43 for the Alabama 7A championship. This was Hoover's 6th straight 7A title. Hoover controlled the game from the start and put tremendous defensive pressure on Bob Jones. I believe the announcer mentioned Bob Jones had 17 turnovers in the first half. With Hoover leading 49-30 to open the 4th Q, Bob Jones' first offensive possession didn't occur until nearly 3 minutes had elapsed. For the game Winston: 13p, 9r, 4a, 4s, 1b, 2t. From a multitude of sources for 15 games: 15.0p, 3.1r, 5.3a, 4.2s, .4b, 1.2t https://www.hooversmagazine.com/schools-sports/jolly-roger-hoover-wins-sixth-straight-girls-basketball-title-over-bob-jones-74bdc9a3 -
Sunnyslope (28-2) defeated St. Mary's (23-7) 60-51 for the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) Open Division championship. St. Mary's was led by '26 #3 ranked Duke commit Cameron Williams who scored 21 pts. Williams won the statistical battle over Wabbington but Sunnyslope won the championship. Wabbington's line: 8p, 3r, 1a, 1s. His one assist was a back breaker with 28 sec. left. He inbounded the ball with a baseball pass to a streaking teammate who got the layup. 29 games: 17.5p, 9.6r, 2.6a, 1.0s, 1.2b, 2.4t 53%FG, 38% on 3s, 74% FT

Purely informational on Cooper Zachary for 23 games - does not include his 2 sectional appearances. 15.0p, 2.9r, 5.8a, 2.7s, .3b, 2.2t 47% FG, 44% on 3s, 89% FT

After compiling a 40-0 regular season record, Westlake was beaten in the 6A championship game by Lancaster 51-37. Finding game stats for Geralynn were on a hit and miss basis - mostly miss - but what I have for her is below. She's just a freshman so who knows if this recruitment will ever go any further than extending an offer. 13 games: 12.0 pts. 15 games: 9.0 reb 10 games: 4.7 asst 8 games 3.9 steals
