Have to admit I'd never heard of Lettice until yesterday but apparently he's pretty reliable.

Royal and Gabe Cupps were considered the 2 best players in OH in their junior and senior high school years. Cupps named Mr. Basketball in '22 and Royal in '23. Royal has certainly had the better college career at this point.

Another day another loss. Nebraska takes game 2 of the weekend 12-7. Neubeck started and made it into the 4th but the damage was already done with the Huskers having already scored 5 runs. For good measure they added 7 more in the 7th. 4 IU pitchers gave up 12 hits, 8 BB and hit 5 batters. We had 7 hits and Nebraska graciously walked 13 IU batters but we couldn't make our hits count and left 13 on base. Try to salvage one tomorrow before heading home.

IU men's tennis defeats PUke and we take an 8.5 to 5.5 lead in the Governor's Cup competition. Next event is women's golf as a part of the B1G championship April 21-26 in Glendale, CA.

Taylor Hess started today's game and didn't make it out of the 1st inning. Faced 7 batters and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits, 2 BB and 1 HBP. Replaced by Brooke Mannon with the bases loaded and 2 outs and we escaped with a batters interference call on Detroit Mercy to end the inning with no more damage. Mannon pitched into the 7th with us holding a 7-4 lead but was replaced by Ella Troutt after loading the bases and just 1 Detroit out. A sac fly made it a 7-5 game and that's how it ended. We had just 6 hits and Detroit walked 6 and hit 5 but we didn't take advantage leaving 10 on base. Ellie Goins had 2 RBI. Just a 2-game series this weekend and no upcoming mid-week game. We'll be in Los Angeles next weekend to face UCLA (28-4) (9-1). .

Zach Horwitz - First time this season that I see some real shakeup with the lineup. Will Moore gets the start at 2B with Mateo Noto drawing in at 3B. Cal Gates gets the start in right field. Hoosiers lost their sixth one-run ballgame of the year last night. Tony Neubeck looks to even up the series as he takes the mound for Indiana this afternoon.

In a game just ended, Parke Heritage defeated Westview 57-56 for the state 2A championship. We make a lot of fun about PUke's Amish boy but Westview has the real deal. Really good story about Austin Schlabach but also about the relationship between the Amish community and the local school. Only played in 9 games this season due to a shoulder injury. Last game he played was Jan. 10.

We spotted Nebraska 5 runs and then tried to play catch up and it didn't work. Nebraska a 6-5 winner in the weekend opener. Rivera started and pitched into the 4th giving up 3 hits and 3 BB and 2 earned runs. He balked in a run in the 3rd and then hit a batter with the bases loaded in the 4th and charged with the loss making him 0-3 on the season. We had 7 hits in the game and left 8 on base. We'll try again today at 3:00 ET.
