  1. The man is a beast. What an outstanding rookie season he is having. Hope he gets serious consideration for ROY even though he's playing on an otherwise pathetic team.
  2. Say what? Surely you jest!
  3. I wouldn't hold my breath. I followed this past summer's AAU circuit pretty closely and don't recall ever seeing IU mentioned in attendance at Watford's games. Also, I follow Watford on Twitter and don't see us ever mentioned. And FWIW, I think Trendon has a completely different personality than CWat and who knows how that could play into his recruitment.
  4. Cody with a nice double double. Another strong game for Gordon off the bench. Vic again out with his sprained wrist. Westbrook continues to be amazing with 26 pts., 11 reb. and 22 assists. His 13th triple double on the season. 12.17.16 Season W/L W/L Min. Pts. 5. Cody with a double double in the Hornets 107-99 win over the Hawks. 16 pts. and 11 reb. 8 of 14 from the field.
  6. Didn't expect five-star junior Darius Garland to be the volume shooter in his matchup with five-star Alabama signee Collin Sexton, but Garland had to shoulder a bigger offensive load. Sexton was more efficient in this one, though. Went 9-for-17 from the field, while Garland was 7-for-25. Jeff Borzello, ESPN Staff Writer
  7. FW North 77, Evansville Harrison 54 Keion Brooks 23 pts.
  8. Steve Risley ‏@srisley34 tweet to Dakich talking about Butler. "@dandakich better coached team"
  9. IMMEDIATE HELP WANTED: Point Guard. Apply in person Bloomington, IN Paging Robert Phinisee; paging Darius Garland.
  10. Now I have to listen to my 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law brag for the next 12 months.
  11. Ladies defeat Oakland 84-59. Gassion and Cahill both with double doubles. Leading scorers: Cahill 17, Gassion 15; 12 each for Buss and Anderson. Rebounding – Gassion with 20, Cahill with 10. Buss with 6 assists. Ladies dominated all the statistical categories. Can’t tell from stats how well the bench played overall. Contributed 22 pts. and 11 reb. but that doesn’t tell us how effective the bench defense was. Next game is Tuesday evening at 7:45 ET at the University of Florida. And again Wed. evening in Florida against Stony Brook both games a part of the Florida Sunshine Classic.
  12. Hmmm. Martin with 24 pts. in 24 min.
  13. Double double for Gassion and Cahill only 1 rebound away from her own double double.
  14. There's not a team in this country that should EVER underestimate Butler. Stevens and now Holtman - they are well-coached, have their game plan and they stick to their game plan and they do it time and time again. Will they hang a banner; maybe never, but for good fundamentally sound bball they are pretty hard to beat. My daughter bought me tickets for this game as a Christmas present but because of road conditions earlier and expected later tonight, Mrs. Old Fart and I gave them up. So far, I'm glad I did because I couldn't stand to be sitting in the middle of the Butler section after this first half. Now, if we can come out strong in the first 4 minutes of the 2nd half we'll be OK. But if he play those 4 min. the way we did the first half, oh dear..........!
  15. We want MSB! We want MSB!
  16. Buss with her 48th consecutive double digit scoring game, 1 shy of the IU record of 49 held by Karna Abram '84-'87.
  17. It's really too bad that PUke won because I so badly wanted to use this.
  18. Who? LOL Well, yes and no since he actually graduated from Marion HS!!!!!!!!!
  19. You definitely win a prize package because for whatever reason, we've had little success in Fort Wayne; PUke with a big edge in recruiting from that area. Most recent was James Hardy 2004-05 who left the bball program to concentrate on football. Before him Tracey Foster 1982-84 from Homestead HS who left after 2 seasons and transferred to UAB (I think). John Flowers 1981-83 who either transferred on his own or was kicked off the team and ended up at UNLV. I think academics were a part of his problem. Those are the only ones since the mid-1970's so it's definitely not a hotbed for IU.
  20. Laskowski broke the single season South Bend scoring record (I think that's right) averaging 28.9 PPG his single season and, as I recall, Abernethy bested Laskowski the very next year. St. Joe coach at that time was Bob Donewald who later became a Bob Knight assistant. Now you got me going. Those 2 were the first 2 kids from South Bend since the 1959-60 season. And since Laz and Aber, the only South Bender was walk-on Raphael Smith 2012-13. But there is another very famous IU alum from South Bend -- Don Schlundt who played from 1951-55 and had an outstanding career. 21. You are waaaaay toooooooooo young. John Laskowski and Tom Abernethy both from St. Joe HS are the first ones that come to my old and feeble mind.
