  1. Great addition to the team! Wish he could play this year, but oh well! http://iub.sidearmsports.com/news/2015/8/24/FB_0824152340.aspx
  2. I will not be surprised when he flips to us!
  3. I think that Wilson's contract has a little bit to do with it. I think it also has to do with our lack of success on the field. Yeah we've had some tough breaks (The Minnesota game a few seasons ago, Sudfeld last season, etc.), but at what point do recruits stop believing in the product you're creating? Bottom line is this is a very very important season for Wilson and the entire football program. We make a bowl game, extend Wilson's contract and recruiting will pick up; plus this staff always seems to flip one or two good commitments at the end of the season. But if we under perform again, no extension for Wilson, bottom of the Big Ten recruiting class, and we head to the 2017 season with a lot of uncertainty.
  4. To be honest, it's hard to get excited about any of the 2016 commits so far. Except for JUCO safety Jayme Thompson, none of the current commits really stand out to me. I know the staff does a great job of developing guys but it would be nice to land a 4-star here and there. And although some people don't really believe in rankings, they are there for a reason. It's still early in the process and I'm hoping a good season attracts some of the 4-star recruits our way.
  5. I completely agree. I think pulling an upset here and there this season and making it to a bowl game will really turn the heads of some recruits. It will finally show the progress of the program! I mean last year's win at Mizzou received plenty national attention.
  6. Well it doesn't help that recruits don't know whether Wilson will still be here in a season or two. We need a bowl game and an extension after this season!
  7. Reminded me of this guy.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjR_PNItOm0
  8. Wait I thought he was eligible to play this year? We could really use him! He was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and part of Ohio State's 2013 class.
  9. Judging by "her" posts...she's probably 17...
  10. This is the year to turn some heads and we certainly have the players to do it. Going undefeated into the Ohio St. game will create some buzz and national attention. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get to the Ohio St. game 4-0 and play them at least competitively.
  11. Okay so Duke is not and has never been worse than IU and Cutcliffe is a very good coach. But it was a definitely a crappy program when he got there. How many seasons did it take him to get to a bowl game? I think it was either 5th or 6th season when he finally made it to one. It takes a while and I'm confident we'll get there under Wilson. If not this season, maybe next? If after next season we don't see improvement, I'm okay with looking somewhere else.
  12. Looks like Roy is opting in and Stuckey will look for a new team. It kind of sucks, considering Stuckey was great off the bench last season. He put the team on his back in some of the games. I guess we'll have one more year of Roy...I like the guy and I want him to succeed but he's so soft and has no mental strength.
  13. Only Latham and Fant are left?? Yes we lost Kenney and Smith and now Allen, but there are other players from that class that should contribute this season. Chase Dutra, Laray Smith, Noel Padmore, Clyde Newton, TJ Simmons, Nate Hoff?
  14. It's time to build around PG...Thanks David for all the memories but it's time to move on.
  15. I'm just wondering why not any other major programs are recruiting this kid? I mean he rushed for 1,854 yards and 25 touchdowns last season. Is he just undersized?
  16. My guess is that it's the area code of Cole's hometown in Ohio.
  17. @MB_Weaver: Ohio RB Cole Gest (@ColeGest) has committed to #iufb today. That is 8 commits for #Indiana in the 2016 class.   @IUCoachWilson:Gr8 Start to a Summer Vacation!! #BOOM #440 #GoIU
  18. And if Wilson by some miracle took IU to the Rose Bowl or some major bowl next season, a lot of high profile jobs would come knocking.
  19. I think if everyone stays healthy we definitely have the talent and experience to get to 6 or 7 wins. Without having seen the team on the field in months, this is how I would guess the season will play out. Maybe a little optimistic, but I think it can be done!   W-09/05 Vs. Southern Illinois W-09/12 Vs. FIU W/L-09/19 Vs. Western Kentucky W-09/26 At Wake Forest L-10/03 Vs. Ohio State L-10/10 At Penn State W-10/17 Vs. Rutgers L-10/24 At Michigan State W-11/07 Vs. Iowa L-11/14 Vs. Michigan L-11/21 At Maryland W-11/28 At Purdue
  20. Ugh the Allen situation couldn't have helped. On the bright side, our RB group seems to be pretty talented so it doesn't hurt as much. We need to have a good season to turn some heads and get notoriety from recruits; otherwise Wilson's seat will be pretty hot.
  21. Well it's not like he went on vacation and had a chance to pick out an outfit to wear. Either way, it reflects poorly on him and the program. That's 3 incidents in the past few months. Wilson has to be fuming!
  22. @gsherm11: At the final four izzo told me “not to fucking embarrass myself in front of a crowd bigger than my home town” after I air balled a shot
  23. Now can the NCAA increase the 1-yr college minimum to two? I think we would then see actual true student athletes across the board.
  24. You bring another point. The players under Kevin Wilson know what's expected of them and have bought into the program. Even though there has been a few incidents; the players have acted better on and off the field. Can you say that about Lynch's teams? That's the reason half of them left the program when Wilson came in. They were used to mediocrity and were okay with it.
