He was on my short list before Crean got fired but he’s had some stinkers of years. He wouldn’t be on my list at the moment.
Would Indiana offer enough money and resources to Dan Hurley? Hell, I would honestly bring back Sampson and I know that’s a stupid take but he’s been the best coach at Indiana since he was fired.
Social media continues to crap on Woodson and the programs general state. Obviously social media is what it is, but it has been interesting to see some people that were big Woodson people start to change their standing.
Exactly. Plus kids have other interests besides basketball that influence them on where to go. The only thing that would maybe sell me is that Woodson was in the NBA so long so he knows people clearly. Hell, he got Kopp an NBA spot for crying out loud.
The funny part is this was never going to work out. He hasn’t been a head coach for years let alone a college basketball head coach. This was predictable.
Just depends on the amount of chairs each arena has. The Indiana’s men’s staff is very large. From players to coaching staff to support staff to managers.
Chris, I’m your right hand man when it comes to coaching searches. I’m ready to track a damn plane again. The football search has given me the “itch” again.
Meh, maybe.. He’s a big figure in the Mormon church and his home of BYU. Personally, I think he wanted to be closer to “home” and why not do the same thing 45 minutes away in Salt Lake?
Nonetheless, it was shocking indeed.
Going from the smoke of Brad Stevens to hiring Mike Woodson was some of the most anticlimactic stuff to happen in this past decade. What a freaking bummer that was.
And that was with Archie having less staff members and less “recruiters” if you will. Without Woodson having TJD, it would likely be very ugly up to this point.
Likely true. But, I think Woodson is wise. He knows this could get ugly quick. I could see him retiring after next season (24-25).
If TJD wasn’t here to save him the last two years, Woodson would be gone this summer.
